How to change page layout and back?

Hello again. Have to duplicate report text in tabular form in the same report. How can one embed a text duplication in a table that gets updated automatically when one changes the original text? AFAIK people sometimes refer to this as live embedding. Greetings, Lux

How to import *.doc and *.pdf files into LyX without format loss?
Hi! At last have got lyx under windoze to preview dvi and pdf. Now a step many of you have taken successfully. How to import *.doc and *.pdf files into lyx without format loss or as little as possible. If intermediary steps are recommended, what are these? What tools are required and where can they be downloaded. What about RTF import? Rob is kindly requested to expand his short guide to a full qualified HOWTO. :-) Lux

Hi! Having followed the advice as best I can, things have improved but still cannot preview anything, neither dvi nor pdf previews (2 of the latter) work. No output to the lyx screen when doing C-d or selecting dvi from the menu but the console tells me that a latex file was produced including the body. Both kinds of pdf preview tell me that there are no instructions for previewing pdf. In neither case are there error messages on the console, started with lyx -dbg 3. What should I try now, please? Lux

Had exactly the same problem and output using sed 4.0.9. So I deleted it
and renamed oldsed.exe to sed.exe. Now /lyx/share/lyx/configure completes
without errors. But I still cannot preview lyx files with dvi or pdf. See
