I never used texref in LyX, sorry. Thanks Jan! This could explain my problem! Due to the latex error output the lyx funktion "texref" is "vref" in latex code! So I should finish the report first and later watch out for page break problems! Greetings Thies

xfig pictures rotate and have strange colour
Hi, If I insert a picture (in a float) in lyx 1.1.6fix which I produced or manipulated with xfig, the picture is always rotated at 90. I exported the picture as eps in xfig before and cant see where I pushed a rotate button... :) A bug? A mistake? Another thing about xfig: the program seems to use a different "white" than other grafic programs (Gimp im my case). For example I import a picture in xfig, ad some words, export it to eps, import it in lyx: the result has a kind of greyish background in the output although it was white in gimp and xfig. A bug? A mistake? Or a question in the wrong mailing list ;-) Thies

no number block available in tables
Hi! I hope this question is not older than the program itself: I am working with lyx1.1.6fix1. If I want to use the number block on the keyboard in tables, the curser jumps out of the float and writes down the number there. Is there a way to solve this problem? (And if there is: is there a way to define the number block comma as a decimal point?) Thies

Re: no shortcut for floats
In addition, you can use strace -o out lyx grep lyx.mo out this should result in a line like open("/usr/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES/lyx.mo", O_RDONLY) = 6 and see if LyX is reading the correct file. Pit Hmm! This changed not so much! At first grep lyx.mo out gave the following message: open("/usr/X11R6/share/locale/de_DE/LC_MESSAGES/lyx.mo", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) open("/usr/X11R6/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES/lyx.mo", O_RDONLY) = 6 so, a different path as you mentioned open("/usr/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES/lyx.mo", O_RDONLY) = 6 ) I thought, o.k. lets try the new version of the lyx.mo file in this directory path. Indeed the behaviour changed a little bit! The 'o' is now clear underlined in the menu. But if I use the shortcut still the math-funktion opens! With the small difference that no additional paragraph is added anymore. I tried it with different .bind files (The original ones!): cau, menu, de_menu. whats wrong? Do I have the right lyx.mo file? ftp://hst33127.phys.uu.nl/pub/LyX/lyx.mo_1.1.6fix1.gz Thies

Re: no shortcut for floats
For the moment, you might want to download ftp://hst33127.phys.uu.nl/pub/LyX/lyx.mo_1.1.6fix1.gz gunzip it and copy it as lyx.mo to your locale directory, most probably /usr/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES/lyx.mo I did that but nothing changed. Do I have to configure something additionally? I tried the configure button without success. I also changed back to the cau bind file (although this might not have anything to do with this stuff.. :)) Thies

no shortcut for floats
Hi! I recently updated a lyx1.1.4 version to 1.1.6fix1 If I try to insert a float via a shortcut the former combination M-e o does not work. The menu tells me to use M-e a instead (the a is underlined), but this opens the math-formual editor (which actually should be c-m or something). This does not happen in the help files (which are write protected). There the combination M-e a opens the (disabled) float menu. I tried to modify the "bind" file. But although other changes in the "bind" had an effect this one didn't. I am using the german GUI. By the way: when i changed the "bind" in the preference menu, lyx sometimes crashed! (But the changes were done) Hm, I am thinking about downgrading to 1.1.5 because of some of these troubles. In the case I do, do I have to deinstall the 1.1.6 version first (how completely?) or at least delete some of the files? (It's a Suse-Linux system) Thanks Thies

find and replace
Hi! Is there a way to use latex commands in the find-replace funktion of lyx? E.g.: guess you have 1times the word "dog" but finally you want "\emph{dog}"... ;-). Such a funktion would be handy!!!
