Press on the "Extra" button, and write >{\centering}p{} in the
Special column alignment field, where is the desired width.
You also need to put \usepackage{array} at the preamble.
You do not need to enter the width in the width field.
See the attached file.

You can only set one column at a time.

This is a bug.

Alignment in tables, there width is been fixed and other strange things

2001-05-17 Thread Andi

I have a problem, somebody already asked in March, but I was not able to
solve it anyway:

If I fix the column width of a table, I´m no longer able to center the
text in the table.
Dekel did some suggestions and attached an example file, but
unfortunatly I was not able to open it (msg10030.html). There was an
error message: "Tabular<5 no longer supported, use an older version of
Lyx" and then Lyx crashed.
Does anyone has a solution for this problem?

Another question is: Do I have to enter each column after another and
add the table width? Because, if I mark more than one to enter the same
width for all of them, only one was affected.

While doing this, I ran in another strange thing: If I want to change a
width I already entered, the cursor leaves the field as soon as I delete
are enter ONE charakter and I have to use the mouse to activate the
field again before I can enter the next charakter. Are there some
settings, I have to change (Lyx1.1.5fix)?

Thanks in advance
