But KLyX did not have support for multi-language documents, did it?

Yes, me. It is a known bug. I asked for help some months ago already and
it was confirmed on the list, then. :-(

By the way: Does KLyX behave the same?

1) Now, open it with LyX 1.1.6fix4. Keep the foot closed. Then copy a word 
from anywher in the text. If you paste it before the foot, then it is OK. 
Paste it after the foot, the problem appears. It changes the language of 
the word back to English. 
2) Now open the foot-box by clicking it. Then the problem disappears!
3) You can change the language of the text anything different from English (I 
tried German, Italian), the problem is the same.
4) Delete foot: The problem disappears.

I hope this observation helps to figure out this little bug.

Well, I have very nice memories of the Bulgarian seeside ... but 
unfortunately I don't speak the language. Anyhow, thank you, and 
congratulations!

One more info about the copy/paste problem: I checked on Klyx 0.9.9. It works 
correctly.
