The error message looked for cls file.
I guess it is because the installer bundle only offers basic setup of
Miktek, therefore most of document classes are not available.

Use complete installation of Miktek might fix the problem.

You could try the installer linked to there, although note that it is
not official and should only be used for testing.

bit, and after installation, I keep getting the above error.
