Powerdot users: how to create pdf?
I'm trying to create a presentation using powerdot for the first time. First, the powerdot-example.lyx file would not run because my xkeyval package was outdated. I tried to install xkeyval v2.5f and it forced me to install first the fourier-GUT package, which was also not present in my tetex distribution. After all that, I was able to generate the dvi from the powerdot-example.lyx file, but I'm still not able to create a pdf using pdflatex. I exported the lyx file to latex and tried to run pdflatex from the command line. It complains that the command [EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED] is undefined. I was only able to generate pdf using dvipdf. But I should be able to run pdflatex directly, right? This way I should have access to all special effects pdf can provide. See section 8 of the user manual for powerdot. Powerdot uses PSTricks and is therefore not compatible to pdftex. To get a PDF you have to use dvipdfm or better ps2pdf as export method from LyX. Please also read the manual of Powerdot before you proceed. regards Uwe

I tried to install xkeyval v2.5f and it forced me to install first the fourier-GUT package, which was also not present in my tetex distribution. After all that, I was able to generate the dvi from the powerdot-example.lyx file, but I'm still not able to create a pdf using pdflatex. I exported the lyx file to latex and tried to run pdflatex from the command line. It complains that the command [EMAIL PROTECTED]@[EMAIL PROTECTED] is undefined. I was only able to generate pdf using dvipdf. But I should be able to run pdflatex directly, right? This way I should have access to all special effects pdf can provide. Powerdot uses PSTricks and is therefore not compatible to pdftex. To get a PDF you have to use dvipdfm or better ps2pdf as export method from LyX.
