Problem exporting to lyx1.4 (mac PPC os 10.4.10)

I am working on a mac ppc with mac os 10.4.10

On trying to export a file from lyx 1.5 to lyx 1.4 (big5), I get the  
attached error message:
inline: Lyx-error.tiff
This happens with both rc1 and rc2 versions
