Thank you Julien for your reply. The problem has been solved in the
meantime. The reason was after reinstalling Lyx after formatting my
computer, the bibtex didn't get refreshed, even though it didn't show in the
lyx editor. For people who will have this problem in the future, just
perform a manual update for each citation to solve this problem.

 When you use author-year citation style (which you can set in Documents 
 Settings), you also need to use a bibtex style (which you set by clicking on
 your bibtex bibliography) which is author-year compatible, plainnat.bst for
 example.

 If you don't use bibtex, I guess you have to format your bibliography
 entries in a special way, but I wouldn't know exactly what format you have
 to use.
