Re: right-clicking on the index button??
Kevin Pfeiffer writes: From the LyX Extended [Features] Guide (1.3.5): The text in the dialog available from right-clicking on the index button accepts LaTeX, so you'll need to be careful to avoid using any special characters. On the positive side, you can use the advanced options - have a look at the documentation which comes with your LaTeX distribution to find out how to do things like nested entries, etc. Does this really work? Right-clicking is not doing anything for me... Could someone simply confirm whether this does or does not work as advertised (in 1.3.5)? Letf or right clicking brings the index dialog here on LyX 1.3.3 and 1.3.7cvs. Thanks! When I add an index list via the Insert -- Lists TOC menu I get a white box with the word Index in it. No amount of clicking of any kind, anywhere around it brings up a dialogue window. I also see no reference to makeindex in my Preferences menu. But the indexing works fine. Is the index dialogue accessible otherwise -- or does anyone have any idea what might not be working? I'm already using a separate script to intercept the call to makeindex, so perhaps it is not that important, but it's of course frustrating when something doesn't seem to work and one can't figure out why. -Kevin -- Kevin Pfeiffer [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tiros-Translations

The (1.3.5) Extended Features guide only refers to clicking on the index button not to clicking on an index entry button. To avoid confusion, it should perhaps say (if in the new version it doesn't already): Clicking on an index entry (Idx) button re-opens the index tag, allowing you to edit it (LaTeX is accepted so be careful about adding any special characters) and use the advanced options provided by the makeindex helper application you are using (see XXX). Using an, index entry, Idx and tag (which is what the Guide already calls this) makes it less confusing (or so I hope). What are you trying to do? I wanted to change how makeindex is called by LyX (perhaps in 1.4 this is configurable in the preferences), but I found a wrapper script to do this already. -Kevin -- Kevin Pfeiffer [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tiros-Translations
