I think this is correct, and a good idea.

If someone is going to change this, please also change "Discard" to "Don't
Save" which is standard on OS X.

I use a straight US keyboard.

Esc does Cancel which is fine, but I would like to use Space to Discard and
Enter to Save.

More seriously: could this be keyboard/language dependent (Swedish

Request for Feature on Mac

2014-01-31 Thread Dr Eberhard Lisse
Where would I request the following feature:

Many Mac programs offer you the choice to Save, Don't Save/Discard,
Cancel in the way that is shown in the enclosed alpha.jpg, ie if you
use the Return/Enter key it'll save, if you use the Space key it'll
Not Save (Quit) and you have to use the mouse to click Cancel.

In Lyx I must use the mouse if I want to discard, because it doesn't
recognize the Space and it defaults to Save.

Since I work with the keyboard mostly it is a nuisance, hence this
request.

2011-05-10 Thread Dr Eberhard W Lisse
Now that time for new features has passed :-)-O I wonder if
one can integrate something like the todonotes package in a
manner similar to the Comment or LyX-Note features, in other
words I would like to see a comment or note appear in a
frame with color background in the margin.

Any ideas?

By the way I have tossed 1.6 already a while back, I do
plain everything with LyX these days, OR reports, patient
letters, articles, speeches and what not (even a little
SWeave). Have even installed gnumeric for the spreadsheet
table business but must confess Apple Kenynote is so much
better than anything else that I don't think I'll do
presentations with beamer again :-)-O

Thanks everybody involved so very much for this marvelous
piece of software.

A little help would be an OK-Button in the search-panel. Then I could
type in a word, hit RETURN (without using the mouse) and would be
there.

An elaborate search is certaily something we'd like to have. This is

Me too. That is one of the first topics in my wish-list. (Also an incremental
search would be fine.)

One more thing. Could there be a "math search" some day? (Or more important
a "math replace"?). For the time beeing, when I want to change some variable

Am I right in thinking that this could be implemented by just having an
LFUN that focusses and starts a minibuffer with the given argument,
allowing the user to finish off the command :

\bind "C-s""minibuffer-open word-find-forward"

{ LFUN_OPEN_MINIBUFFER, "minibuffer-open", ...}

?

Hi!

Is it possible to have a search-function similar to the emacs search?

I want to jump to the search-string simply typing "C-s search-string
RET". With the given search-panel I have to use the mouse.

I think this is not true anymore since two weeks or so.

Just grab current CVS and try again ;-)

In the meantime you could use xvfb to create the illusion of a running X
for LyX while doing the export.

Request for feature...

2000-10-19 Thread Matt Bandy

Hi everyone. I discovered LyX about 2 months ago, and I love it. I'm
writing my dissertation with it now, and it's wonderful.

I would like to suggest a modification, however. At the moment, Lyx
requires a display even for export to LaTeX. This means that if I am
connected over a slow link I can't export another version of my document
for download or emailing, which is a minor annoyance. In particular, I
have a script that exports a version of the document to many
formats (dvi, html, ps, pdf, txt), and I would like to put this on a
nightly cron job, so my current draft will be avialable to the faculty at
all times, in a variety of formats. But the display requirement means I
can't export the initial .tex file that I need for the script unless I am
actually logged in. (running on Linux, heavily-modified RH 6.0)

If anyone has a suggestion, please let me know. Otherwise, this is simply
a request. A polite one, I hope. I find LyX extrmemely useful, and very
well-designed. Many thanks to all responsible.
