Re: Request for Feature on Mac
I use a straight US keyboard. Esc does Cancel which is fine, but I would like to use Space to Discard and Enter to Save. el -- Sent from Dr. Lisse's iPhone 5 > On Jan 31, 2014, at 13:09, Anders Ekberg wrote: > > -Original Message- > From: Dr Eberhard Lisse > Date: fredag 31 januari 2014 11:00 > To: > Subject: Request for Feature on Mac > >> Where would I request the following feature: >> >> Many Mac programs offer you the choice to Save, Don't Save/Discard, >> Cancel in the way that is shown in the enclosed alpha.jpg, ie if you >> use the Return/Enter key it'll save, if you use the Space key it'll >> Not Save (Quit) and you have to use the mouse to click Cancel. >> >> In Lyx I must use the mouse if I want to discard, because it doesn't >> recognize the Space and it defaults to Save. >> >> Since I work with the keyboard mostly it is a nuisance, hence this >> request. >> >> el > > Hmm, Escape gives me Cancel; so you lost one, but gained one ;-) > More seriously: could this be keyboard/language dependent (Swedish > keyboard here). > > /Anders >

Request for Feature on Mac
Where would I request the following feature: Many Mac programs offer you the choice to Save, Don't Save/Discard, Cancel in the way that is shown in the enclosed alpha.jpg, ie if you use the Return/Enter key it'll save, if you use the Space key it'll Not Save (Quit) and you have to use the mouse to click Cancel. In Lyx I must use the mouse if I want to discard, because it doesn't recognize the Space and it defaults to Save. Since I work with the keyboard mostly it is a nuisance, hence this request. el <><>

Now that time for new features has passed :-)-O I wonder if one can integrate something like the todonotes package in a manner similar to the Comment or LyX-Note features, in other words I would like to see a comment or note appear in a frame with color background in the margin. Any ideas? By the way I have tossed 1.6 already a while back, I do plain everything with LyX these days, OR reports, patient letters, articles, speeches and what not (even a little SWeave). Have even installed gnumeric for the spreadsheet table business but must confess Apple Kenynote is so much better than anything else that I don't think I'll do presentations with beamer again :-)-O Thanks everybody involved so very much for this marvelous piece of software. el -- Dr. Eberhard W. Hi! Is it possible to have a search-function similar to the emacs search? I want to jump to the search-string simply typing "C-s search-string RET". With the given search-panel I have to use the mouse. Ciao! juh -- www.juergen-rüttgers.de - und tschö! http://www.sudelbuch.de/2000/2504.html

Request for feature...
Hi everyone. I discovered LyX about 2 months ago, and I love it. I'm writing my dissertation with it now, and it's wonderful. I would like to suggest a modification, however. At the moment, Lyx requires a display even for export to LaTeX. This means that if I am connected over a slow link I can't export another version of my document for download or emailing, which is a minor annoyance. In particular, I have a script that exports a version of the document to many formats (dvi, html, ps, pdf, txt), and I would like to put this on a nightly cron job, so my current draft will be avialable to the faculty at all times, in a variety of formats. But the display requirement means I can't export the initial .tex file that I need for the script unless I am actually logged in. (running on Linux, heavily-modified RH 6.0) If anyone has a suggestion, please let me know. Otherwise, this is simply a request. A polite one, I hope. I find LyX extrmemely useful, and very well-designed. Many thanks to all responsible. Matt Bandy http://inti.devnull.net
