What _doesn't_ work is: : select text in lyx : choose "copy" or hit the "copy" key (ctrl-c in mine) : try to paste into URL or other dialog boxes. Actually, this is probably more of a "copy" problem (since lyx also doesn't copy to the global selection, which the dialog boxes use). Perhaps the documentation should say (in addition to saying that Lyx doesn't copy into other applications) that you can't copy into Lyx dialog boxes, either. Still, this seems like quite a limitation. People expect a GUI editor to be able to have copy available and to be able to use it in its own dialog boxes. -- Ned Konz currently: Stanwood, WA email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] homepage: http://www.bike-nomad.com

Why no paste in dialog boxes?
I've been using Lyx for a while, and have found it frustrating that I can't use copy and paste to insert text into entry fields in dialog boxes. Say I've got a URL in my text and I want to add a URL element. I can't just copy the text and paste it into the dialog box entry field! (Linux, 1.14patch2) I'm sure that this is an oversight, but thought I'd point it out. All in all, though, I like it! -- Ned Konz currently: Stanwood, WA email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] homepage: http://www.bike-nomad.com
