Yes, it work's. Maybe with other fails witch I not observe until now.

  I could not install the rpmfile
  lyx-1.4.0-1_suse10_qt.x86_64

 This will only work on the 64 bit version.

My System is Suse 10.0. I installed the rpmfile 
lyx-1.4.0-1_suse92_suse93_qt.i586
I could not install the rpmfile
lyx-1.4.0-1_suse10_qt.x86_64

Maybe this is the reason

I just recompiled LyX 1.3.3 on debian Woody after a disk crash. I was 
successful and the new version works great. When I used v.1.3.1, I had loaded 
a proper .ui file for french (named francais.ui or something like that) along 
with the executable. There was nothing of the kind (but the default.ui) 
coming with 1.3.3 sources . I could'nt find a french translation of the 
interface on the net. Any idea, someone (preferably a standard file than a 
personal translation) ?
