Highlighting text in the printed document version
Hei! When still a Word user I found quite useful to highlight text while working with a document in order to include comments, notations, or just highlight important things. This was useful for both me and other people reading and reviewing a printed version of the document. I would like thus to have available this same functionality in Lyx. I have been investigating and I think this is not a standard Lyx feature. However, I have found a latex style file that makes the trick (http://www.texnik.de/paragraph/paragraph.phtml#color) (http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/soul/). I managed to create a shortcut to introduce the \hl{} latex command in a document, so in the printed version the text is highlighted, but it is not in Lyx. Would this be possible in some way? Nicolás

Re: highlighting text?
Thanks Jurgen.. will check this out.. nirmal http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/supported/soul/ Regards, Jürgen.
Re: highlighting text?
Mark the textpart and then -Layout-Character-Color This would change the color of the text.. highlighting would change the color of the background of the text. Though changing color might do it, it's very possible that in large docs, changed text color may not get noticed... Thanks, nirmal

then in ert \colorbox{red}{some text} with a \usepackage{color} in the preamble Thanks Herbet... Yes, I guess ERT is the only way.. I tried soul and that's pretty neat too but again in ERT.. Maybe I should put in a feature request for text highlighting in Lyx?? it would be nice to be able to simply select the text and then say highlight.. nirmal

If not, it would be a useful feature to add to LyX.. it's very helpful when you want the reader to only look at certain parts of the text.. Mark the textpart and then -Layout-Character-Color Herbert
