impossible to compile

While trying to build the last version I got the following errors (just a 
snippet not to clutter too much the message).

I have the following RPMs:

xforms-1.0-2
xforms-devel-1.0-2
fdesign-1.0-2   (NOT specified in the README, but I discovered to be necessary)

gcc --version is 2.96

libstdc++:
compat-libstdc++-6.2-2.9.0.16
libstdc++-devel-2.96-110
libstdc++-2.96-110

Xpm:
/usr/X11R6/lib/libXpm.so.4
/usr/X11R6/lib/libXpm.so.4.11
