Closing an ERT (was: keybindings referenceguide)

Hi,

Nowadays, I find myself touching the mouse mostly to close ERT boxes,
because I can't see a way to close these via a keybinding.

Am I missing something or shall I add that as a feature request?

I think what you're looking for can be found in Appendix A of the
'Customization' help document. I believe the line you want is:
  M-i f   footnote-insert
