Thanks Dekel.. for the archives - pdftops reduces the quality of the document so I downloaded pdfnup and that works great on the pdf files.. and it's a shell script so there's really no installation... nirmal Psnup works only on PS files. For pdf files you can either convert the pdf to ps and then use psnup, or use another tool (like pdfnup).
