I have this same problem on one XP machine, but not on another. So far I was unable to find what the difference between the installations is-- they were installed at the same time from the same batch file. problem with xetex-option
Hi, I want to use system-fonts so I tried to check the Use non-Tex fonts option but when I click View PDF (XeTeX) I get various errors. Is there something else that has to be done before it can be used? The errors are various of type Undefined control sequence, two of type LaTeX Error: Missing \begin{document} and one of LaTeX error: kernel/command-not-defined. Regards, Tao

Perhaps you use some latex commands that are not supported by xetex; or you have something specific in the preamble. Today I had similar issues when xetex was loading polyglossia and I had a babel-specific command in preamble. Check that xetex is OK by creating a very simple document and trying to compile it.
