Ok, I installed now every package found when I enter l3 and fontspec but I
still get the same errors. I reconfigured lyx after installing the packages
of course.

Is there any other specific package I need that is part of latex3 and doesn't
start with 'l3'? When I filter the packages for latex3 the package manager
finds nothing.

Thanks for the help so far.

I have this same problem on one XP machine, but not on another. So far
I was unable to find what the difference between the installations is--
they were installed at the same time from the same batch file. I do not
have this problem on an Ubuntu (11.04, 64 bit) machine.

problem with xetex-option

2011-09-25 Thread Tao Cumplido

Hi,

I want to use system-fonts so I tried to check the Use non-Tex fonts
option but when I click View PDF (XeTeX) I get various errors. Is there
something else that has to be done before it can be used?
The errors are various of type Undefined control sequence, two of type
LaTeX Error: Missing \begin{document} and one of LaTeX error:
kernel/command-not-defined.

Regards,
Tao

Perhaps you use some latex commands that are not supported by xetex;
or you have something specific in the preamble. Today I had similar
issues when xetex was loading polyglossia and I had a babel-specific
command in preamble.

Check that xetex is OK by creating a very simple document and trying
to compile it.

Just a new document with a single word and the option checked. No

Make sure you have fairly recent LaTeX3 packages (l3kernel, l3packages etc.)
installed.

non-TeX fonts) relies on it.

problem with xetex-option

2011-09-25 Thread Tao Cumplido

Hi,

I want to use system-fonts so I tried to check the "Use non-Tex fonts"
option but when I click View PDF (XeTeX) I get various errors. Is there
something else that has to be done before it can be used?
The errors are various of type "Undefined control sequence", two of type
"LaTeX Error: Missing \begin{document}" and one of "LaTeX error:
kernel/command-not-defined".

Regards,
Tao

Perhaps you use some latex commands that are not supported by xetex;
or you have something specific in the preamble. Today I had similar
issues when xetex was loading polyglossia and I had a babel-specific
command in preamble.

Check that xetex is OK by creating a very simple document and trying
to compile it.

Actually I was trying with a simple document.
Just a new document with a single word and the option checked. No
preamble no other options or commands.
