references between child documents

2008-09-02 Thread Joao P Leitao
Hi,

I'm using Lyx for a few weeks and have a few child documents. I'd like to
reference a Chapter of child document A in child document B.

I've a label in the chapter of child document A the one I want to reference.

I've tried to use latex package xr but without positive results (probably I did
it wrong in document LaTeX preamble).

Can you help in making this work?

Thanks,
Joao

Just open both documents in the LyX editor. In the Insert reference
window, you can then choose in a drop-down box the document that
contains the label you want to refer to.

LyX automatically merges the references from all child documents in
this window if you also open the master document.

If you open the parent document first and from it the child documents
(right-click on the Include button and click on open, or just compile
the parent), the InsertReference dialog should sport a combo-box to
choose between the child documents.
