Problem with web site upgrade to fusion 6

2014-08-02 Thread David Griffith
I remember with a sinking feeling the problems I had upgrading from Fusion 4 to
5. I ended up buying a full version of 5 from Amazon.

Now I am experiencing similar problems with the upgrade from 5 to 6. Every time
I press the upgrade link I get an unexpected error has occurred message.

Has anybody experienced of an easy way to upgrade Fusion from 5 to 6?

It would be great if this list could offer this product as it does with other
products as in general I find the VMWare websites a nightmare and tend to go
around in circles.

Re: Turning On Mac - No VO at Screen for Login

2014-08-02 Thread Eleanor Martha Burke
Hi Henry, here you go, once Jimmy told me it could be done I managed to
Google and find it.

Turning on VoiceOver for the login window

You can select an option in System Preferences to automatically turn on
VoiceOver in the Mac OS X login window.

To turn on VoiceOver for the login window:

1. Choose Apple menu System Preferences and click Accounts.

If Accounts preferences are locked, click the lock icon in the lower-left
corner of the page and type an administrator password to unlock them.

2. In the account list, move the VoiceOver cursor to Login Options and
press VO-Space bar.

3. In the login options, press VO-Right Arrow until you hear “Use
VoiceOver at login window.”

4. Press VO-Space bar to select the checkbox.

Good luck, I now need to tackle this myself *smile*. I do not feel
comfortable in that area of the locking and unlocking but hopefully we will
both succeed Henry.

I do not feel
comfortable in that area of the locking and unlocking but hopefully we will
both succeed Henry.

there is a way to do this without having to turn off voiceover.

I was therefore trapped in Windows and un able to return to my Mac. The only

How are Fusion 6 users managing to return to their Mac from full screen

apple TV question

2014-08-02 Thread Laurel and Stockard
hopefully, since this is Apple related, this isn't o/t. I apologize if it is.

I'd like to learn more about the Apple TV and how it increases accessibility
for the blind with regards to TV watching. Who can tell me more, or point me to
a blindness resource where I can learn more? Also, I have Cable TV but
obviously I can't access all the menus because my TV doesn't talk. With the
Apple TV connected to your TV, does anyone use that to control your cable and
access the different channels etc?
Thanks
Laurel

RE: apple TV question

2014-08-02 Thread Kliphton Senior
You can't use it to control your cable, but you can activate most channels
on the appleTV because you have a cable subscription. You get Netflix,
hulu, cnbc, crackle, dizney, dizney JR, life time, ANE, and much much more.
Some of these you may neeed sited help to activate, but most you can do with
just the voice over support and remote. Good luck

2014-08-02 Thread Mark
Question, how do you use it to control your cable? I have the Apple TV, and
find all the icons for Hulu Netflix etc. is there supposed to be one for my
cable? Otherwise, I'm not sure how you would control the cable with Apple TV.
