Re: [Mac-access]: Music Subscription Services

2015-02-25 Thread Travis Siegel
I don't know if it's available in other places, but I kind of liked the rdio
client. I can't see paying $10 a month to stream music though, so these kind
of streaming services don't appeal to me, but the client is accessible, and the
paid service was nice (I used the 30-day trial). The only (major) difference I
saw between the paid vs. free version of the app, is that on the free version,
you can tell it you want to hear a certain artist all you want, and it ignores
you (mostly) while with the paid one, you could restrict it to only that artist
if you wanted.
Otherwise, I didn't see any difference, but I only used it for a few weeks, and
not every day at that, so your mileage may vary.
hth.

Re: [Mac-access]: Music Subscription Services

2015-02-25 Thread Dane Trethowan

thanks, we do have Rdio out here so I must give that a go.

I pay $6 I think it is for a monthly subscription to Pandora and for
that? Well I get better quality streaming than you get with the free
version - and that's a fact, you can certainly hear the difference in
the audio quality when you use the free version - and there are no ads
when subscribed, just track after track with you interacting to tell
Pandora whether you like or dislike what you're hearing.

$10 a month for Rdio puts it on a par with Spotify which I also have a
subscription to, a different service altogether than Pandora and the
only thing they have in common really is that they both play music.

Wit Spotify I use the iPhone client to access the service or I access it
from other devices, its a shame that the Spotify Mac client itself isn't
accessible - or wasn't the last time I tried it. -

Another service worth mentioning here is http://radiotunes.com which has
both free and premium services, its different in that you can't select
hwat you want to hear, you hear what the channel director plays you
however - if you're into music - a premium subscription to Radiotunes is
certainly worth the $6 per month given that there are literally dozens
and dozens of music channels to choose from and ad free when you
subscribe, of course audio quality is at a premium.

There is an IOS and Android Radiotunes App which are both accessible.
you can configure Radiotunes to play through your favourite Media Player
such as VLC, iTunes and so on.

One does wonder why people waste their time creating radio stations on
the Internet these days when the audience can hear what they want when
they want with Pandora, Rdio, Spotify and so on, guess Boys Like Their
Toys and like a blast from the past in the DJ world smile but i'm
rambling.

I think it's in the session itself. I'm not upgraded yet but I do remember
seeing a mute check box when I was looking in my first impressions podcast at

 Hi!

Forgive me if this question has been asked before.

I’ve been a proud user of Audio Hijack Pro for 6 or so years thus was
very excited when the new 3.0/3.01 version was offered at a special
upgrade price, I had no hesitation in parting with the $25 upgrade cost
and I’m glad I did as the Interface looks so much more accessible with
 Voiceover.

The problem I’m having is when I select a source and wish to select an
output device for playback of that source, when I interact with the
Source list I get a “Library Locked” message, can anyone tell me what
 I’m doing wrong?
