The inaccessibility of the iOS 6 appstore on iPad again.

2012-11-01 Thread Debbie April Yuille
Hi All

I've tried out the search function on the iPad's app store running iOS 6
again and still it is not accessible with Voiceover. I've had a sighted
person look at the screen and the way to navigate through the search results
on the iPad remains the same as in iOS 5, meaning that all results are
displayed on the same page, rather than each App on its own page like with
the iPhone and iPod Touch under iOS 6. The apps appear as images that the
sighted people can see, yet when I drag my finger over them, voiceover gives
no indication that they're there at all. Are there any iPad users out there
experiencing the same issue as me? If so can you tell me of a work around
for this problem.

Thanks
Debbie

I don't know if it is just me, but with my iPhone 4 and IOS 6, I have such a
problem, I search for something, and it only shows one result, and I don't
know how to get the rest of the results.

Navigating through iPhone App Store search results [Was: Re: The inaccessibility of the iOS 6 appstore on iPad again.]

2012-11-01 Thread Bryan Jones
[Subject line changed to reflect topic change]
Try the following:
1. After performing your search, do a one-finger swipe right until you pass the
screenshots for the current App.
2. You should land on an item that announces the name of the current App and
it's place in the list of results. For example, if you searched for the word
chess you might hear, Chess Free; One of One Thousand Three Hunderd results.
3. While sitting on this field, you can perform a one-finger swipe up or down
to move through the list of results.

Sounds like we're having the same issue. On my iPad 2 running IOS 6, a
search for the word chess in the US iPad App Store App returned 952
results. The results are presented as a grid of 4 apps on a page, but only
the first result on the first page seems to be readable by VO. That result
is located near the top left corner of the screen. I tried various swipe and
other navigation gestures in an attempt to hear any of the other results on
the first and subsequent pages, but haven't been able to hear anything other
than that first result.

Unless I'm missing something, I guess it's time to email
accessibil...@apple.com again.

2012-11-01 Thread Debbie April Yuille
There is a picker just above the five tabs at the bottom of the screen.
Swipe up to go through the results. This is where iPhone users are lucky as
this picker works. Unfortunately there is no such picker on the iPad.
