Which proves that not only do iMacs run better than Windoze machines,
they have better taste in music as well...

Does anyone have a recommendation for Internet filters? Cyberpatrol
eventually directed me to Vicomsoft, but I need something simple for
home use. Is there anything compatible for my iMac?
Thank you

Before I believe this, I want to see it confirmed that the machine can't
be started up with the following standard ways to work around a bad disk:

hold the mouse button down at startup to eject removable media

on newer machines hold down option at startup to get System picker dialog

drop into open firmware by holding command-option-o-f at startup and
eject the CD or choose an alternate startup disk from there

if a SCSI startup drive is installed press command-option-shift-delete-#
to boot from SCSI device number #

There are probably other ways to do this that have not popped into my
head.
