I was going to repair it myself. The iFixit repair page shows how to be sure
the fingerprint recognition works. I’m not sure I actually qualify, but I’ll
try anyways.

I got my phone repaired by Puls, because they come to you. (They subcontracted
to Joytech.)
Am unhappy with both the new screen and the new battery too.

Don't go the the Batteries Plus stores as they charge "an arm and a leg" to
do it.

Make sure you get someone to do it who knows how to replace the screen without
messing up the fingerprint sensor.

[MacGroup] iPhone 6 replacement screen

2017-12-30 Thread Bill Rising
Hi all,

My iPhone 6 screen finally shattered, so I need to get a replacement.

When looking online, it seems that many of the replacement screens (including
iFixit's) have problems with color, stripes, etc. because the LCD panel is not
so great.

Replacing just the glass looks wy too hard.

So... anyone have experience with replacement screens/replacement screen kits
including tools?

Bill

Re: [MacGroup] Another recommendation needed: routers

2017-12-30 Thread Bill Rising

After a month of using my new router. I'm generally happy.

I have had to reboot the router once because I lost connections.

Still, range is good, so no extender is needed, so there are no longer any
problems with Facetime or phone calls dropping out when switching router to
extender.

All Good.

Tom,

I hope your feeling better, not good to be puny this time of year (can you
think of a good time?).

Package is on it’s way, so sorry I was typing away on the UPS site and left the
