A local bank here in Southern Indiana was hacked, at the main branch, over the
Labor day weekend so the bad guys had more time to steal from folks.

Someone put a skimmer on the ATM machine and bunches of people lost all kinds
of money from their accounts. It takes awhile for the errors to be
straightened out and new cards will need to be issued.

Now today the bank has been hit again, (as I’m sure all the other banks have
also been used) this time from Meijer, so someone has put a skimmer on the self
checkout OR it’s an employee that has done it.

The thief’s are using this info to make purchases at other places using the
stolen card info. the bank has had tons of purchases coming in from the stolen
numbers.

I tell you I’ll never, ever know why folks don’t use ApplePay, even if I used
the machine that had the skimmer they would not be able to get my card info.,
it’s not given. When I use a Chase ATM I can enter all the info. the bank
needs by holding the Apple Watch to the ATM, (or the iPhone) I don’t enter my
PIN or insert the card, it’s safe.

I shake my head and wonder why aren’t folks protecting themselves by utilizing
the safety of ApplePay?
