no selfupdate

Any idea what's going on?

sync seems to work using subversion, so I don't understand why selfupdate
shouldn't work

selfupdate uses rsync, you can't configure it to use subversion

If you can't use rsync (because of draconian network firewalls or other 
policy), you'll just need to download the macports installer and run it to get 
an updated version of macports.
