seed nots that I found xcode-select.

The complete description iis n the Xcode 5.0.1 Release notes:
https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/releasenotes/DeveloperTools/RN-Xcode/

Command Line Tools
• Command line shims are included with OS X Mavericks. If Xcode is
installed, the shims use the tools within Xcode. Otherwise, the tools delivered
in the Command Line Developer Tools package are used. The Command Line
Developer Tools package can be installed on demand using xcode-select --install
or by trying to use any command line developer tool in Terminal.
On OS X Mavericks, Command Line Developer Tools are updated using Software
Update. On OS X Mountain Lion, continue to use the Downloads preferences in
Xcode to update the Command Line Developer Tools.

On OS X Mavericks, xcode-select provides the --reset flag to revert to using
the default search paths.

The Command Line Developer tools package has been updated to include xcrun.
xcrun adds support for the following:

• The --show-sdk-path option queries SDK paths
• Improved xcrun performance
• More robust support for the DEVELOPER_DIR environment variable
Set DEVELOPER_DIR to either a copy of Xcode or /Library/Developer
CommandLineTools when Command Line Tools for OS X Mavericks is installed

• xcrun passes the SDK provided to subcommands in the SDKROOT
environment variable when used with --sdk. 15190491

If you select Get Xcode it opens the app store which reports it is already
 installed.

Apple’s software update servers are likely quite busy today. Try again later.
For me, clicking Install worked fine just now.

It's been reported that Apple removed that; they're auto-installed if you
run clang, or manually installed with xcode-select --install. I just
updated the ProblemHotList on the wiki to reflect this and some other
10.9/Xcode 5-isms.

A couple of notes:

(1) If you have already installed Xcode 5 on Mavericks, and haven’t yet
installed the command line tools, then running clang won’t prompt you to
install the command line tools. This is because Mavericks has shims that thunk
into the tools built into Xcode.

(2) So on Mavericks, if you’ve already installed Xcode 5, I think the
only way to trigger the install of the command line tools is through the
xcode-select —install mechanism.
