are macports servers down ? ? ?
Hi folks, I'm experiencing some issues with Macports. I can't even update the ports with the selfupdate command. I get this error from the shell /--- Updating MacPorts base sources using rsync// //Error: Error synchronizing MacPorts sources: command execution failed// //Please run `port -v selfupdate' for details.// //Error: /opt/local/bin/port: port selfupdate failed: Error synchronizing MacPorts sources: command execution failed/ .are macports servers down or too much overloaded to handle the data traffic ? could be your firewall or other network settings. Try running `selfupdate` with the `-v` flag as the message suggests, or, if you want even more information, try doing it with the `-d` flag. I get this error from the shell You appear to be in Italy (at least gmail is telling me University of Messina); there appears to be a connectivity issue currently that's preventing (some?) Italian ISPs from reaching Apple-hosted servers. There is nothing we can do about this, it's an ISP connectivity issue. There was an message to the list regarding moving servers to a new network Feb. 16th. There has also been a message at 5:10 PST that everything is back up which came in after your message.
