Re: Configuring Shure Mic for Garage Band

2012-07-07 Thread Ricardo Walker
Hi,

Are you sure its not recording? I mean, have you actually tried to record
yourself then play it back or, are you just talking into the mic and not
hearing yourself through your headphones? If this is the case, thats because
monitoring is turned off by default on real tracks. You need to interact with
the track info pane, and turn monitoring on.

Hi to all, over the past couple of years I have been listening to a bbc
station called radio 4 extra. It is a station for Comedy Drama and
entertainment. During this time when going to the main site.
www.bbc.co.uk/radio4extra
and finding the Schedule link which then takes you that current day's shows.

On that particular Schedule page, I was able to find the next and previous
day's so then what I would do if that if I miss a programme, I was then able
to access it with I Player. This would become in real handy for when I miss
a programme because I went to college or had to go somewhere etc.
Well to cut to the chase, during this week, at some point I am now unable to
find the previous or next day links which basically means I can't access an
earlier show or I want to see what's coming up next.
Basically could all you screen reader users comferm this and I don't care if
you use windows or mac because I tried it with NVDA and that still didn't
find me what I wanted on the windows side having 1st tried it with voiceover
on my Mac.

If this is the case, what do you advise to do because I'm stumpt as to how
to get this previous functionality back.

again the link is www.bbc.co.uk/radio4extra
once on the main page find the Schedule link and that's the place where I'm
stuck.

Hope to hear from you all soon!

Thanks

For instence.
I created a document called Test document and proceeded to save via command S I
successfully saved in my home directory under documents with the above file
name in the root of that folder. Now here's where I miserably failed! No matter
what I did the 1st time I ended up changing the file extension from.doc to
.pages .doc was the original one I was after because I move between platforms
and thus need that format so I then changed it the second time. It still
however created another file without overwriting the original one. So I then
tried two other things. I then tried to save it in the .pages format it says
iWork 08 I have 09 which I'm not sure if that's anything to do with it but
creating a new file with that extension adding a bit of text then the save
command my reaction was that it would just overwrite and the save as dialog
wouldn't appear. Again though, no luck. The other idea was to sit on the file
when I changed it to see if that would overwrite it with the new changes but it
ended up creating another file without the overwritten one being changed at
all.

So in all this exparemential saving issue, (I'm glad I'm using Bean) how in the
heck does one overwrite the same file in pages without creating new ones! LOL

I lookforward to hearing the wonderful work arounds either that or I'm not
doing something right. Grin

Re: Really having a hard time trying to save with pages 09 over original file experimenting but no results.

2012-07-07 Thread Harry Hogue
Hi, when using Pages, when you save a file that you want to be in .doc format,
the best thing to do is go to export, then choose Microsoft Word format.
When you open the document back up and make changes to it, you can then save
changes to the original by choosing import and then save once you see the
dialogue box to name the file (make sure you don't change the file name; you
can simply press enter).

It will say that a file with the same name already exists, and you can choose
to replace it. I actually just figured this out today. Pages defaults to its
own format, so after saving files via exploit, when trying to exit Pages, it
will say your document has not been saved. You needn't worry, however, as your
file has already been exported in to .doc format.

HTH,

Harry

Alex,

As far as I know, having been trounced soundly by my Macbook Pro on multiple

set up a board next to the laptop pay more attention next time, by echoing
the moves in the real tactile world.

Good luck,

have the Shredder app on my iPod, but the screen is quite small and

That's what I never understood. As a blind person, with a physical board, how
are we to get a visual layout of the on-screen board?

And yes, the Chess app is very accessible, what what I remember. You can even
set it up to read the computer's moves automatically.

Re: chess?

2012-07-07 Thread Greg Aikens
You can move up, down, left, and right to get an idea of the visual layout.
This doesn't give you diagonal information, but it makes the game very
playable.

Tips for Using Track Changes

2012-07-07 Thread Harry Hogue
Hi all,

Does anyone have any tips for using track changes, for inserting them and for,
more importantly, reading the changes others have made? This will be very
important for work with my future students.

Thanks,

Harry
