Yes. Just go to updates tab in the App Store. You will also be told via a badge when new updates are available. The number of updates available is spoken after the App Store icon is. Re: victor reader stream
I use SD cards interchangeably on Mac and PC every day with no issues. As mentioned if you delete a file under the MacOS there is a safety net of a hidden track folder on the card which will allow you to restore deleted files.. You can either get rid of this by emptying the Trash whilst on the mac or if you put the Card on a Windows machine simply delete the underline Trash folder which is visible there. Re: apps in Icloud
You can also connect your iPhone to the computer after you delete the application, then press tab until you get to the iPhone button. Then you can tap to the checkbox and selected. Then you can navigate to the table of apps which you will then look for the application that you want to transfer over. Then you want to select it then press tab until you get to the apply button. Then the application will sync. Re: issues dragging and dropping signatures
Hi Ray, Yes and no. I’ve got it to work about one out of every 20 times. What I’ve started doing is just copying and pasting the text from my preferred signature and creating a new one for the specific Mail account. So, for example, my signature below is attached to my iCloud account, I select iCloud from the Signatures area, copy the text of the signature, then select the other account, in your case ComCast, then create a new signature called ComCast Home and paste in the text. Not preferred but I was getting too annoyed with the multiple attempts. Sometimes, the old fashioned drag and drop worked , I’m pretty sure the newer VO drag drop never worked since as soon as something moved in one of the tables, VO would say that the focused item was no longer visible. FYI, old fashioned drag drop uses VO-shift-cmd-space to grab then the same combination to drop. HTH. Later... Re: Fujitsu ScanSnap | Accessibility of ScanSnap Manager with VoiceOver
The pricing concerning the Fujitsu Scansnap, varies. I purchased the S1300i model through Amazon for $250. This includes the Scansnap software with ABBYY Fine Reader and the scanner. My scanner is a 9-page tray machine with a very compact footprint. It is all quite easy to setup and use. I wish I had this during my first round of graduate school because while Kurzweil is great for the Windows platform, it was slightly cumbersome to constantly load VMFusion just to scan textbooks. In this case, I would be more willing to have the binding removed so scanning could be less of a chore, and more of a minutes process, rather than a devoted period of time that cut into reading. Furthermore, while I know the 1500 model is slightly more expensive because of the wireless capability, I would like it for the 50-page loading tray, which would be easier to work with. I have been creative and have inserted several pages behind the 9-page limit, but sometimes the scanner does get the better of me. :) Hope this has been helpful -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. Re: sleep machine lite for iOS...
I bought rain sounds recently, and can't remember why. So why is white sounds in this instance, and what benefit. The best thing we ever had here was a defunct radio station where the authorities broadcast a 30 or 40 minute loop of some country place in summer; very restful and that station got higher up the ratings for that than when the channel was actually broadcasting real or commercial content. I'd buy that and go to sleep to it; I got pointed at one, farmers with shotguns were too evident and too darned close and woke you up with a jolt; Daa! Re: automatic readinng of incoming mail under yosemite
Open System Preferences, and go to Notifications. In there is a table of all the apps that can put notifications on you Mac; find Mail in that table. Now vo-right or tab until you find a set of radio buttons that dictate how notifications appear, and choose none. That should take care of it, though you can also completely remove Mail from your Notifications Center here if you wish. Just a couple of weeks ago I noticed that I was missing over a gig of space on my 4GB SD card. I couldn't find the culprits either on my mac or using a windows PC. I finally had to back up the folders that I had stuff in and then format the SD card using the stream. Once I did that I copied the folders from my computer back to the SD card and like magic I had my full space back. Re: commands with a braille display
It seems odd, but have a look in the place where you'd change commands. Press vo-f8 to open the VoiceOver Utility, then go down to the Braille category. Choose the Displays tab, then find your display in the table. Finally, activate the Assign Commands button, and you'll see a table of every preset command and what it does. Of course, you can change any of these if you want to, or add your own. This is the most comprehensive list I know of. Practice mode (vo-k) is also a valuable tool.
