Re: signatures

2016-08-26 Thread Kawal Gucukoglu
Once your message is written, shift tab to the signature field which is to the
right of the from field, so you shift tab once and then make sure your
signature is selected as you need to put a name to call your signature when you
are in mail preferences. I hope you are going in to mail preferences with
command comma and writing your signature that way rather than system
preferences.

Thanks.

signatures

2016-08-26 Thread Jean
Hello All:

I know this question has been asked before. I have put signatures in the field
for the purpose in system preferences. When I compose a message, there is a
button just below the subject line that says signatures but when I hit that, my
signatures do not appear. The only choices I get are none and edit signatures.
What am I doing wrong?

You can also tab over and select end call with voice over space. Command

I've had the I grill mini for a few months now and it seems to be beginning to

the thing.

How Are "Home Made" Ringtones Installed

2016-08-26 Thread Bill Gallik
I’ve created some “Home Made Ringtones” (via Ringtone Maker Pro) and want to
install them on my iPhone. When I was using my Windows PC as the support
computer for my iPhone this was fairly straight-forward - at least with that
version of iTunes. I am now using my Mac Mini as the support computer for my
iPhone and iPad II. But for the life of me, I can’t figure out how to get
those ringtones installed on the iPhone.

Could anyone please offer some suggestions?

Re: Moving by page in Text Edit/Pages/etc?

2016-08-26 Thread Anne Robertson
Hello Donna,

The commands you’re thinking about are Go to first or last visible item and Go
to First or Last Item. These were switched round in El Capitan. To me, this
makes sense for a VO user who normally doesn’t care what’s visible or not. So
now, VO-Home goes to first item and not first visible item.
I use VO-Home and VO-End a lot to save time.

Cheers,

Anne

Hello Alex,

Wrap to Page does indeed show what the document would look like if printed, and
allows VO users to find the page breaks.

Re: Untappd app not working using VoiceOver

2016-08-26 Thread Erik Burggraaf
Dear David, I'm a huge fan of untapped. normally I check in on my Android
phone but sometimes I use my iPod touch as a backup. I read your post about
changing locations and thought that I would give it a try. oh my goodness!
it's bad! it's bad on both platforms but on iOS it is atrocious! the tab
bar, which is unlabeled in both applications, disappears from the screen at
random intervals and you have to click around the app in order to bring it
back. then when you finally get your checkin going the rating bars in
accessible. locations are workable but they take an incredibly long time.
what with one thing and another my beer was warm before I managed to
complete my check in. it took over half an hour. that's just not right .so
I wasn't able to reproduce your problem with setting locations
unfortunately. I have to say this app needs an incredible amount of
attention on the accessibility front.

best,

Erik

PS, if you want to friend me on untapped, I think my id is e.burggraaf.

Hi.

I and maybe other beer drinkers are using the beer community Untappd for
checking in beers.
I've been in the loop for beta testing of their iOS app, and found an
accessibility bug that is now in the App Store, as either me or the
Developer didn't find a way to solve this.

It's a PhoneGap built app, using WOWebView, if that helps.

Here's what I sent to the Developer just to reproduce the issue:

I'll try to cover it step by step.
As I'm at work, I will use my workplace for the checkin:
1. I'm opening the app.
The search screen appears.
2. I search for "nøgne wit".
The auto-search list of beers appear as it should.
3. I select Nøgne Ø Wit (the first result).
I double tap once on that beer, and nothing happens.
I double tap once again, and the beer screen appears.
4. I double tap on the Checkin button.
The checkin screen appears.
5. I choose a venue to checkin to.
As the list of suggested venues doesn't contain "Arbeids- og
velferdsdirektoratet NAV IT", I double tap the Add Location-button.
By swiping a lot, I find the venue "Arbeids- og velferdsdirektoratet
NAV IT", and double tap.
That doesn't work, so i double tap more.
Nothing happens...

So the result is that I am not able to checkin the beer at the venue I
am at, wich is quite frustrating, as I like to have checkins posted on
Swarm, and my venue history on untappd.
I'm either not able to go back from here, so the only solution from
here is to kill the app, and start all over again, and to end up in a
loop - (From step 1).
Are there any one here who can help out to solve this?

Best regards David

2016-08-26 Thread Alex Hall
Thanks. Interacting was one step I was missing, as I never interact with text
unless I need vo-a to track my position. I also never knew what wrap to
page/window in Text Edit do. Are they visual changes only, or is there
something they do that is helpful to VO users aside from allowing page-level
movements? For instance, does 'wrap to page' show what your document would look
like, and where page breaks would be, when printed out on paper?

Now Mark that was not nice to spring this on us today. Gosh I have not had
a banana split in so long! But I know the lovely girls at the ice cream shop
will be only too happy to be my co-conspirators. I best not wait for too soon,
they will be back in high school.

Nice app. Thanks for the tip on the mislabeled button. Not at all bad for a
free app.

Hi Simon and All:

The Bluejeans network is a video conferencing service similar to Zoom and Linda
I guess. It is used for a lot of global academic applications. The interesting
thing about it though is that it calibrates to the band width potential of each
user. So if you have a mix of participants with some having high-speed capacity
and others having only audio phone capability, it adjusts. This makes it
possible for people to participate who have little or no tech infrastructure.

RE: airport express in enterprise

2016-08-26 Thread Simon Fogarty
Yeah Hi Tim,

Got all that by viewing my express lastnight,

Was looking to add it to our corporate network at work as an experiment however
it turns out that our network uses a couple of things that the express doesn’t
to this point take in to account.

But I would assume the extreme does and hopefully the express next version will
add in.

So I’ve given up on that idea for now but am now looking at configuring my own
radius server just for something to do.

Cheers for the info though it’s much appreciated.

Hi,

I've never used it with a Radius server other than Xserve., but according to
the documentation, it should be totally doable. From what I can tell, just use
Airport Utility to access the Express, then in the Wireless tab, in the
Security area, set it to WPA2 Enterprise. It should ask you for the IP of the
Radius server and Airport Utility should do the rest for you. I can't verify
this for you, but it sounds like it should work and the configuration is quite
simple.

Hi Listers,

Ok, just contemplating upsetting my employers by saving them money.

I have an airport express version 2 device so that is N wifi able.

What I want to know is if anyone has got experience using the airport express
in an enterprise environment

and using WPA2 enterprise authentication
so that is using a Radius serverwith the
express?

And if so was it difficult to install / configure?

Realistically this would be using an airport express device connected to a
network where the enterprise authentication would be through a windows server
2012r2 radius server.

I know the express will do wpa2 enterprise authentication but this I need to
get passed a number of people whom wish to spend 1600 NZ dollars on a single
cisco AP where as the airport express is smaller easier to hide and only 150 nz
dollars,

Thanks for any information.

Cheers,

 Hello Alex,

In TextEdit, you need to adjust the window to the page for VO-Page Down to
work. The command to change this is Cmd-Shift-w.

In Pages and in TextEdit, you have to be interacting with the text area
for the Page Down command to work.

The Page Down key only has a visual effect, so it’s actually useless for
 us.

The VO-Page Down command works for me in both Pages and TextEdit, but not
 in Preview.
