RE: Mailbox question

2016-10-07 Thread Simon Fogarty
Hi,

Yeah Yammer is a Microsoft chat service,

I guess like messaging on the Mac OS.

It's available as an app for the IOS platform,
 Web based interface,
Or received as emails which you can reply to as part of a chat

There is either the free version or one for enterprise systems in which the
enterprise admins can setup their own Yammer server if they are really crazy,

It comes as part of office 365 (2016)

It's not bad to use, I've used it for work, it's like most chat systems just
bloody annoying

OK, so a little bit of googling answered my question, going to post to
hopefully save some of you the trouble. apparently it's Microsoft crap. There
is some program called Yammer, and Microsoft, in its beneficence, decided we
should all have this on our computers. If you have an Outlook account, you
probably have it too. working on figuring out how to get rid of it. God, I
hate Microsoft!

Re: Reading kindle books on Mac OS or converting to other formats

2016-10-07 Thread Kliphton Miller
Okay, I downloaded the kindle app, and I think I downloaded my entire
collection. 1. I can’t find the kindle book library nowhere on my mac. 2. I
can not navigate books in the kindle app, let alone open them with command O.
I have tried with quick nav on and off, and either method does not work. What
am I doing wrong here?

icloud and outlook 2016

2016-10-07 Thread Anouk Radix

Hi Everyone,

AFTER having to turn off 2factor verification outlook 2016 does work
with my gmail. However, I dont get it to work with icloud. I mean
outlook for windows10 which I am running in bootcamp.

I am wondering if anyone else is having problems with outlook 2016 and
icloud and if someone has found a way for this to work?

I would love to be able to use my contacts and agenda on windows as well...

Thanks in advance for any information,

Greetings, Anouk,

problems syncing onedrive from mac to windows

2016-10-07 Thread Anouk Radix

Hi Everyone,

I have 1 tb of onedrive storage and want to move a 70gb zipfile from the
mac to windows using onedriver. I know onedrive is working because i can
see my kindlebooks folder on the mac in onedrive while i downloaded them
using windows.

However if i put the zip within the onedrive folder it will not show up
under windows.

I do get a message when starting windows that onedrive needs permission
to update itself but i dont see anywhere to give it this permission. Has
anyone else experienced this? I have windows 10 home and office 365.

Thanks in advance for any help,

time to keep repeating myself. Do not hesitate to ask about something specific

Remove Voices from Voice over on Sierra

2016-10-07 Thread Ramy Moustafa
Hello all:
WHile I was in EL capitan, if I need to remove Voices from Voice over
even if they are downloading right now, I can uncheck them, and they
are disappeared, but now on sierra. I have many voices that I don't
need, and some other voices that I checked to download are still
waiting, even here I can't see the progress bar for downloading voces,
and also, can not remove voices that I don't need,
is there a way to do this/

Thanks in advance

Re: Reading kindle books on Mac OS or converting to other formats

2016-10-07 Thread Georgina Joyce
Hello,

Yes that’s the tool I use. It removes the DRM and puts the stripped file in a
subdirectory of your documents folder.

~/Documents/Ebook Converter/

As for opening your kindle book. Kindle for Mac does allow navigation of the
library using VoiceOver. The hardest part is to register your app to your
account. But once you’ve done that you can navigate it using VO keys. By
interacting with the book list you can open a book by cmd + o, then closing it
by cmd + w. Which pulls it down to the HD. You can see the commands on the pull
down menus. I need to press return sometimes to get the focus on the book I
want to open.

As I said, it’s clunky!

For those of you who have been thinking about an appleTV4, the 64GB model is on
sale at sams club for only 148 bucks. You must be a member obviously but that
is a steel since it is normally 200. I don’t know if they sell the 32GB model,
but if I didn’t already have 2, I would grab it.

Interesting you should bring this up. With IOS10, I seem always to have

was and I didn't see this until after, I had sent my first reply to you.
Microsoft is getting quite out of hand with the amount of crap they put on PC's

Windows PC I chose, instead, it was an Apple Mac.

Re: Questions about Two-Factor authentication

2016-10-07 Thread Jonathan Cohn
It sounds like you made too many changes to the iCloud account and that Apple
wants you to wait to turn on two factor.
Consider this a security feature, if somebody works on guessing your password
and eventually gets it right, you would not want them to then be able to change
your authentication schemes and completely lock you out.

Best wishes,

Jonathan Cohn

Re: Speaking Bar in IOS10

2016-10-07 Thread Alex Hall
Hit 'stop'. You must have activated Speak Screen, a feature where swiping two
fingers down on the status bar will read the screen aloud using speech that can
be customized independently from VoiceOver. Stopping this should dismiss the
bar until you need it again.

hi Simon. How are you? I did everything you told me,and I loggign to my apple

RE: Questions about Two-Factor authentication

2016-10-07 Thread Simon Fogarty
Hi Helga,

Are you actually already logged into iCloud?

When you go into settings,
Then find iCloud,
Under iCloud you should find your log in with your apple ID / name and if you
tap on this to open it you then scrole down to password,
Tap on this to open it and then you should be able to scrole down to your two
factor authentication and hope fully enable it.

If you have iCloud setup then when will get prompted for your account password
which after entering the password will allow you in to the account area.

Hopefully this will work for you this time?

Let us know how you get on.

Cheers,

Simon F

Re: MenuBar Stats

2016-10-07 Thread Terje Strømberg
Tempurature and fan monitoring is not working here at the moment. Temperature
is an add on feature (free) you have to download from the website. After backup
and updating osx it did not work anymore. Used to be able to fix it with
disabling it and disable it again in the add on app after backup. Hope this
will be fixed in a update.

During installation do make a short cut - command key to show the window of
menu bar stat or shortly after installation maybe, don’t remember exact. Useful
to have it to get in to the parameter window fast. I have ti set to ctr - esc.
Then i have ctrl - f15 to open the osx built in activity monitor. There are
many more short cut. One that will not work is alert user if cpu usage increase
more than 90% because 100% cpu usage in menubar stat app is some times only 20%
if all 4 cpu's cores are in use. Menu bar stat monitor only one cpu it looks
like.

Voice over do not speak the menu actually, but you will here the menu bar stat
be announced, hit vo-space. Go right to options, down to preferences, hit
enter. Make short cuts mentioned above. Important to have the option to get to
the menu bar window parameter. In modules list and other lists you have to mark
the module after moving up down. Do not mark automatically.

Also benith the options, you can open disk utility, terminal etc. Do think it
is possiblity to have short cut for allmost everything that have with technical
purpose to do in osx own utilitys.

Take care

RE: Some MP4 Videos Will Not Play on Apple TV 4th Generation

2016-10-07 Thread M. Taylor
Hello E.T.,

To say that such a thing does not happen on the 3rd generation would not be
necessarily accurate as, once upon a time, back in 2013, I believe, there were
problems upgrading from the 2nd gen to the third.

A more accurate answer is that the videos that will not currently play on the
4th do play on the 3rd.

To date, no one has discerned a common denominator as to which will play and
which will not.

The only people who have offered an explanation is Apple and there theory does
not hold up in the real world. I am certain that someone at Apple can resolve
the problem, but, to date, no solution has been published.

What I find most annoying is that the mp4 videos, in question, play in iTunes
and on all Apple devices, except the 4th generation Apple TV.

Once upon a time it was made clear, by Apple no less, that anything that will
play in iTunes will play on all of their devices. Apparently, this is true, no
longer.

Mark,
I do not have a 4th. Does this happen with the 3rd? Curious if the videos
that will not play have something in common, such as where you got them, if
they were ripped/converted, etc.

In the next day or so I can try this as part of testing my new Sierra
installation.
