Re: google docs

2017-01-22 Thread Chris G

Hi,
Others may have differing experiences, but I have found using Google
Chrome and the screen reader ChromeVox is a much better experience.
ChromeVox has its own way of dong things, you'll also need to turn off
VoiceOver when using Chrome and ChromeVox.

Hi,

When you originally set up the keyboard, did it ask you to press the key to the
right of the left shift, and the key to the left of the right shift key? If
not, try going into System Prefs, Keyboard, and see if it can properly identify
your keyboard in the Setup Keyboard area.

2017-01-22 Thread Simon Fogarty
Hi,

Just wondering if when you first connected the keyboard which I'm assuming is
a windows keyboard I assume this from the model number K800 that you listed
earlier.

When you connect a non Mac keyboard you normally get asked to set the keyboard
up as it's unknown

Did you do this before the board started getting used?

You might need to remove the keyboard and re configure it with the Mac OS so
it knows what your using.

Garage Band Resources?

2017-01-22 Thread Kat DeNicola
Hi. I did a search for posts on garage band, but most of them are quite
dated. Are there any podcasts or tutorials out there for using the latest
version of it with voiceover on the mac? I couldn't find much, especially
anything current, and I've never used it before so I don't know how much
change there has been between versions. I was playing around with it trying
to make a ringtone, and it wasn't playing loops consistently, and then I
couldn't figure out how to mix the tracks. So part of this is just not
knowing what I'm doing, added to not knowing how to then do it with
voiceover. Any direction towards appropriate resources would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: Applescript

2017-01-22 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

It sounds like your MacOS is not recognizing that your new keyboard has a left
and right option key. It may be the keyboard's fault, in that the left and
right option keys are sent as exactly the same key-stoke, or it may be
something to do with the way the MacOS maps third party keyboards. When you
use VO-k to have VO tell you what keys are what, is the key your pressing
actually the right option key?

Voiceover at Login

2017-01-22 Thread E.T.
I installed a new wireless keybaord which works fine except at
login. I have VO enabled at the login screen but since installing the
new keyboard, I do not hear it yet VO commands work. I can carefully
execute the usual keyboard commands and once logged in, VO speech is on.
Cmd F5 has no effect on this. What to do? Thanks.

This is an issue with how the application this design. It must be modifying
part of its package contents.

Re: Marking an application as trusted in El Capitan

2017-01-22 Thread Andrew Lamanche
Hi Tim,

This is what is supposed to happen. But in my experience, it just doesn't.
I'm on Sierra, and although I always open itext express in this way a,d would
expect not to have to open it via contextual menu once I've done it a few
times, I still have to do this. I'm not sure where and how to report this to
Apple because it's not strictly accessibility issue.

Best wishes

Andrew
