Response to Keyboard Events Excessively Slow

2017-09-11 Thread Bill Gallik
A couple of issues here, although I believe they are likely related.

First, while typing messages in an e-mail I find the key entry feedback to be
very slow, at times not keeping with my typing lagging by a number of lines.

Second, when I issue the “Send” command (++D) I find that I
must issue that command a second time for it to take effect.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

MODERATOR NOTE: A Quick Update

2017-09-11 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Everyone,

While we are all concerned for the well-being of those in hazardous areas of
the world, I ask that we keep these concerns off-list. To be more precise,
If you want to know if someone lives in a particular area, for whatever
reason, post your questions and/or well-wishes but, after receiving a
response, any further communication with that person or persons, regarding
events in their local area, should be taken off-list, okay?

I have placed several people, associated with the thread, "Anybody left in
Florida", on moderation.

As neither Cara or I want to spend our days reading moderated messages, sent
to us for approval, should those, on moderated status, continue to attempt
to send in appropriate messages to the list, then, while they will be able
to view the list, they will no longer be allowed to even attempt to send
posts until they contact either Cara or me, and give us assurances that they
will comply with the list posting guidelines.

Okay, I think that about covers it.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, September 12, 2017, is going to be a big Apple News day
so let's get ready for some new technology that is sure to enhance our
lives.

Mark

Re: Dropbox on the Mac

2017-09-11 Thread E.T.
Actually it confirms the issue. I can install DB from scratch, but
one must type in the credentials blindly (pun intended). The last time I
worked with this, I turned QN on do I could find either the user id
field or the password field. Without using QN, Voiceover cannot decide
which it is focused on. Then turn QN off and type in what is needed.
Repeat this for the other field. With the user id you can check that its
entered correctly by navigating back to it. Not a wonderful process.

I have only been going round in circles with DB support for several
weeks. I think I need to learn how to make a video of this process and
send it to them.

If you set up Dropbox for the first time or had unlinked it then relinked
it, when the sign in dialog comes up, do you find that there is no typing
feedback in the user id and password boxes? Dropbox support say they do see
this happening.

2017-09-11 Thread Scott Granados
Don’t get me started on Christians, I had to ride in to work this morning
hearing on the radio how you nut bags blamed the storm on homosexuals and
Moslems.

And people say Isis has the monopoly on evil. Christianity is right there with
them when you start making nut job claims like this.
I think another great example of Christianity at work was that Joel
what ever his name is with the mega church in Houston who wouldn’t let in
people seeking shelter yet he gets a tax free ride on the backs of the citizens.
Another fine example is one of your boys Jim Baker Christian soldier
who claims that America is being punished by the storms yet neglects to mention
is himself received 4 years in federal prison for fraud. Sounds pretty
Christian to me.

And here we go again with the Moderators only operating one side of thread yet
allowing chuck to spread his special brand of hate unimpeded whether it’s out
right list violations like this message or in the continuous stream of BS that
fills his tag lines that again clearly violate the no religion requirement.

Have to say this list is steadily becoming less and less valuable and more and
more garbage filled with moderation that’s less and less evenly applied.

Dropbox on the Mac

2017-09-11 Thread E.T.
I am looking for someone to confirm this behavior in Dropbox on
their Mac.

If you set up Dropbox for the first time or had unlinked it then
relinked it, when the sign in dialog comes up, do you find that there is
no typing feedback in the user id and password boxes? Dropbox support
say they do see this happening.

RE: Really OT but a pleasure

2017-09-11 Thread Simon Fogarty
Hi Andy,

Sorry don’t know the name,
We’ve got 4.7 million people here and I’m in the deepish south,

But good one talking to m=him,

Interesting though that he had to go to scottland to see scottland,
I live in the edinbourogh of the south a city in the south of NZ call Dunedin,
He could have come down here to us and seen a castle and pubs,

Nothing at all like the real scottland, except for the weather.

Great chat.

Subject: Really OT but a pleasure

Hi all.

Off-topic message I'm afraid, but I met a guy from New Zealand here today, in
Kilcreggan, Scotland.

He is over here with his family from the North Island and is spending time
going around our country.

I told him that I knew several visually impaired people from his buitiful
country, on this list and I'd pass on a message.

So here it is.

His name was dificult to gather as we were in a busy pup, but he said something
like:

Ky1.dave

And asked me to pass on his regards to anyone who knew him.

Nice guy and a pleasure to meet.

Small world.

Very best wishes.

Andy.
>From Scotland with Love.
Not sure if this will mean anything to you guys, but I introduced him to a pint
of Guiness and he bought one for me before I left.
