I will activate my Apple Watch Series 3 with cellular when I finally receive
it. It is a simple matter to unpair it from my current iPhone 7 and pair it
with the iPhone 10 when I get that iPhone.

Yes, on my Watch series 3, when I slide two fingers up the screen I do
hear volume percentages, but often the volume simply bounced back to its
previous level when I lift my fingers off. I'm quite nervous about trying
to change volume as I'm not confident I can get VoiceOver volume back
again. I've also experienced VoiceOver disappearing entirely for no
obvious reason, which I cursed by holding down both buttons to do a hard
reset. Let's hope a fix will come!

Hi Alex,

Down in the bottom right hand corner you don’t get a pop up message which you
might get saying tap to remove Popup or something similar to that.

Subject: Problem with Mail on iPad under iOS 11

Hi all,
I'm having a very odd problem on a client's iPad under iOS 11. Despite my
warning, the client updated the device, so now I get to explain the rotor
craziness. But the problem I'm having is with displaying messages, not the
stupid new rotor changes.

When I go from a message back to the inbox, VO often reports that it's still
focused on the message content. I'm in full screen mode, so this should be
impossible. I can touch the message list to get back to it, but flicking left
or right, or doing anything else to navigate, acts like I'm in the message. My
back button takes me to all mailboxes, so I'm definitely in the inbox. I'm
confused, so my client is a great deal more so. What might be going on here? Is
there anything I can do about this? Thanks for any ideas.

RE: Sharing a folder between my windows 7 and my mac

2017-10-08 Thread Simon Fogarty
You have to purchase it from them directly I believe,

Also you could reformat the external drive to Fat32
Which is both readable and writable by both windows and mac,
The only limitation is if files are larger than 4GB you wont be able to write
them to the fat32 drive structure,

Or format it as X Fat which again is readable by both mac and windows and has
no real issues I've found so far.

Hello Harry,

I have a series 2 watch running Watch OS 3.

However, I have found it very useful to reboot my watch, at least once a day
and, after doing so, using the digital crown triple-press to turn VoiceOver
off, then back on, for best results.

I do this because, sometimes, VoiceOver can become sluggish.

Given that there is a lot of sluggishness when the watch reboots, if you have

RE: Sharing a folder between my windows 7 and my mac

2017-10-08 Thread Simon Fogarty
Hi Ramy,

 Great you have paragon,

 The smtp is not correct,
You should be using SMB://machine name
SMB stands for Samba, you need this to connect to the windows environment.

 Also something to check on,
On the windows machine,

 In the windows explorer,
Go to your shared drive and right click to bring up the context menu,
Then go to properties,
Once in properties go to the share tab and check that you have the share giving
everyone access rights,
This is normally done under the share tab,
Advanced sharing,
Highlight the everyone user and then select full access.
Then click Ok, then once your back to the properties window tab back up to the
tab names and arrow over to the security tab and then tab down to the edit
option and enter on it,
Then in the list of possible users find Everyone if it is there,

If it's not there then click the Add button,
And in the search box type the word Everyone,
And then if you need to click on ok but it should be a case of type in the
word everyone and hit enter,
Then shift tab back to the list of users and find the everyone user and then
tab down to the list of rights,

If it's only you accessing this share from your mac I'd suggest checing the
Allow Full access, you just have to tap the space bar on that option,
Then keep tabbing down to the Ok button and hit enter,
Then again tab down to either ok or close,

Once you have both of these things configured you should be able to restart
your windows machine and again try connecting to the shared drive and then let
us know how you get on,

Good luck.

RE: Apple Watch VoiceOver volume problems

2017-10-08 Thread Simon Fogarty
I've only got the series 2 watch running Watch OS 4.0 and I'm having no issues
with increasing or decreasing the volume,
But then I'm not trying to change it often,
I did set it up on Saturday night and setting the volume then wasn't an
issue.-Original Message-

Subject: Apple Watch VoiceOver volume problems

I just sent the below to Apple accessibility. Have any other Apple Watch users
experience problem setting the volume?

Hello, I’ve had an Apple Watch since it first came out. I just upgraded to a
generation three GPS only model. I love the watch. But am experiencing some
oddities that I haven’t previously had. Controlling the volume. I’ve tried the
two finger tap and hold and move up or down and I can hear it say 60% 90% 70%.
But no change in the volume also the numbers that it saying almost appeared to
be random it doesn’t slowly go up as I move up and slowly go down as I move
down it’s seem to jump around.

So OK I went to the watch app on my iPhone a plus. I set the voiceover volume
there. And it doesn’t make any difference what I had it set at the volume
doesn’t go up or down. I could set an 100% or I could set it at 40% it’s still
the same. The VoiceOver speech rate does change when I change it on my phone.
But not the volume.

Also over the last few days my Apple Watch has decided to connect with my
AirPods. But the volume there is extremely faint I can hardly hear it. And I
can’t find anyway to increase that volume. I tried the methods above, but
nothing changes it. The Apple Watch software version is 4.0. My iPhone is
11.0.2.

Is There No Way to Hide Purchased iBooks in iOS 10 or Later?

2017-10-08 Thread M. Taylor
Hello All,

In iOS 9, one could easily hide purchased iBooks from within the iOS iBook
app.

Try as I may, I can not discover how this is done in iOS 10, if, in fact, it
can be done at all.

My Google searches result in articles written for the iOS 9 iBook app.

Do any of you know how to hide purchased iBooks in iOS 10 or 11?

All responses greatly appreciated.

Mark

Hello, I’ve had an Apple Watch since it first came out. I just upgraded to
a generation three GPS only model. I love the watch. But am experiencing
some oddities that I haven’t previously had. Controlling the volume. I’ve
tried the two finger tap and hold and move up or down and I can hear it
say 60% 90% 70%. But no change in the volume also the numbers that it
saying almost appeared to be random it doesn’t slowly go up as I move up
and slowly go down as I move down it’s seem to jump around.

So OK I went to the watch app on my iPhone a plus. I set the voiceover
volume there. And it doesn’t make any difference what I had it set at the
volume doesn’t go up or down. I could set an 100% or I could set it at 40%
it’s still the same. The VoiceOver speech rate does change when I change
it on my phone. But not the volume.

Also over the last few days my Apple Watch has decided to connect with my
AirPods. But the volume there is extremely faint I can hardly hear it. And
I can’t find anyway to increase that volume. I tried the methods above,
but nothing changes it. The Apple Watch software version is 4.0. My iPhone
 is 11.0.2.

I will activate my Apple Watch Series 3 with cellular when I finally receive
it. It is a simple matter to unpair it from my current iPhone 7 and pair it
with the iPhone 10 when I get that iPhone.

Re: Apple Watch VoiceOver volume problems

2017-10-08 Thread Kawal Gucukoglu
I just bought the Apple Watch series 3.

Well I have had it for a few days and it's still in the box as I have not
updated my I phone as there is no point since I'm selling it once I get my I
phone 10.

I am unsure if I should set up the watch even if my I phone 7 plus is not
updated. What do people think, should I start using my series 3 watch even if
the phone that I have is not updated?

I use to have the generation 1 watch but that was a long time ago so I have
forgotten a lot of things. So what's the best setting for the watch? I do
remember the complications and how to use it I think.

Many thanks.

Problem with Mail on iPad under iOS 11

2017-10-08 Thread Alex Hall
Hi all,
I'm having a very odd problem on a client's iPad under iOS 11. Despite my
warning, the client updated the device, so now I get to explain the rotor

RE: Apple Watch VoiceOver volume problems

2017-10-08 Thread M. Taylor

Given that there is a lot of sluggishness when the watch reboots, if you have
no useable vision, I can understand that you may choose not to do this, however.

Mark

Yes, on my Watch series 3, when I slide two fingers up the screen I do hear
volume percentages, but often the volume simply bounced back to its previous
level when I lift my fingers off. I'm quite nervous about trying to change
volume as I'm not confident I can get VoiceOver volume back again. I've also
experienced VoiceOver disappearing entirely for no obvious reason, which I
cursed by holding down both buttons to do a hard reset. Let's hope a fix will
come!

Jipp, experience the same on a Watch + Cellular.

If AirPods are connected turn the crown to set the volume. Haven’t tried right
now but a few days ago it worked that way.

Apple Watch VoiceOver volume problems

2017-10-08 Thread John JD Denning

My iPhone is
11.0.2.

Sent from my iPhone
