Mojave not staying on my preferred voice after update

2018-11-08 Thread Michael Marshall
hey all,
am finding a shocking problem with voiceover when installing updates on Mojave.
i use the alex voice but every time i update, my voice options are lost and the
system reverts back to the australian voice.
i have to then go and set all the different voice parameters such as attributes
and typing back to alex.
all the pitch and speed settings are left alone.
it is extremely irritating.
has anyone else found this?

Bootcamp issue

2018-11-08 Thread Bill Holton
Hi.
I had to run the insider version of Windows to do an article, only now under
bootcamp it starts up with an insider error. It says it’s gathering
information and will then restart, and then it sits there at 100%, and there
seems to be no way to get it to proceede. I tried MS Helpline, they tell me
there is now no way to get to either Safemode or last known configuration
without getting to the desktop. This seems ridiculous to me. There solution
was to run Windows off a disk and hit repair. Tried, unsuccessfully to explain
to the rep that I could not do this from the mac side, and that if I can’t even
reach the desktop, can’t do it from there, either.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
Thanks.
Bill

I have a Mac Mini with Mojave MacOS, but the issue I’m addressing here was
happening in previous versions of MacOS.

While reading an e-mail I often delete that message while in the message pane.
Inexplicably, doing this quiet often kicks me out of the message list so I need
to re-issue the ++ key sequence to re-enter the message
list.

Does this happen to anybody else?

Can anything be done to eliminate this very annoying problem?

TIA
