How To Set the Preferred Device to Track Steps in the Health App Between Your Apple Watch or iPhone, MacTrast

How To Set the Preferred Device to Track Steps in the Health App Between
Your Apple Watch or iPhone
By Chris Hauk, Jan 6, 2019

If you're an iPhone and Apple Watch owner that uses the Health app to keep
track of your step count, there may come a day you'll want to set a
preference as to which device you want to register your steps. Sure, if you
only have one of the devices with you, it'll track your steps just fine.
But, what if you have both of them on your person? Which device should
record your steps?
How To Set the Preferred Device to Track Steps in the Health App Between
Your Apple Watch or iPhone

1. Open the Health app on your iPhone.
2. Tap "Health Data," which you'll find in the tabs running along the
bottom of the app's screen.
3. If you don't see "Steps" on the screen, tap the "Activity" button.
4. On the "Activity" screen, tap "Steps."
5. On the "Steps" screen, tap "Data Sources & Access."
6. On the "Data Sources" screen, you'll see a list of devices that can
register your data in the Health app. The list's order is the priority of
the which device records the steps activity.
7. Tap "Edit" on the top right of the screen.
8. Tap and drag the devices up or down in the list to prioritize the
devices.
9. Tap "Done" when you finish re-ordering the devices.

Now, when you talk your daily constitutional carrying your iPhone and
wearing your Apple Watch, the device at the top of the list will faithfully
register your steps in the Health app.

iPad, iPod touch, Apple Watch, or Apple TV, be sure to visit the "How To"

RE: Strange problem with VoiceOver and FaceTime. Can anyone else duplicate?

2019-01-06 Thread 'Jason White' via MacVisionaries
I'm not sure whether it's wrong, but it is confusing. The buttons to invoke
audio and video calls are however in the window (after the search results
table).

Hello everyone.

Sorry for the long subject.

Can anyone else duplicate the following using the latest version of Mojave.
Using FaceTime and VoiceOver, if you enter a name into the search part of
FaceTime, you can arrow up and down to get to the desired contact.
But then if you VO right arrow, it says the following things at my end.
Empty dimmed collection. Then after this it says Search results empty table.
What the heck is going on? Am I going mad? Or have Apple broken something.

Please any responses appreciated.
Thanks very much.
Look forward to hopefully someone getting back.

Hello,
The speakers will not work till Windows is in the final setup faze, where you
enter your account name and the like.
Yes, you can connect headphones directly to the 3.5 jack.
After windows takes over from boot camp, after several minutes, just activate
narrator with control command on a mac keyboard or control and windows key on a
windows keyboard.

 Now a few questions.

I'm running windows in restricted mode, that's without a product key.

 The quesyion is this.

If I purchase a product key and for some reason I need to completely
reinstall windows on my mac with boot camp, will my product key work every
time I need to do this? Or, will I need to contact Microsoft for a key
 reset/reactivation?

As I said, this is only if it becomes necessary to reinstall a whole new
 install of windows using bootcamp.

 Thanks.

Re: Finally got Windows 10 running on my mac with Bootcamp. Now a few questions

2019-01-06 Thread Oriol Gómez
hi
windows drivers for the bootcamp system are not included
the mac speakers do not work with the generic Realtec drivers that
microsoft provides
Thus, the installation is not accessible.
In the case of a macbook pro with only USB C ports, I have found no
way to solve this, as the windows install does not support USB C or
maybe it does not support Apple's USB C to USB A adapters.

Has anyone found solutions to this?

 Now a few questions.

I'm running windows in restricted mode, that's without a product key.

 The quesyion is this.

If I purchase a product key and for some reason I need to completely
reinstall windows on my mac with boot camp, will my product key work
every time I need to do this? Or, will I need to contact Microsoft for a
 key reset/reactivation?

As I said, this is only if it becomes necessary to reinstall a whole new
 install of windows using bootcamp.

 Thanks.

Concerning the use of headphones during the windows installation, is there any
special adaptation for these headphones? That is, is it just a matter of
plugging in headphones into your MacBook airs speaker jack, or are they USB
headphones of some sort? And, why do we need to use headphones at all? Is it
that the speakers do not work during the installation? Please elaborate.
