I ordered a keyboard from. Amazon that said it was compatible with Apple magic.
I hooked itup recently because my old one is getting more and more
disfunctional. it seems to be fine except that it has 4 keys on each side of
the spacebar. it's not too bad. command is directly next to the spacebar. then
comes option or it works like option anyway. then comes who knows what and then
control at the end. so my question iks: is there anything that this other key
next to control does if you have it hooked up to a Mac?

Thanks.

My guess is that your mystery key is the Fn-key. Not sure if it will function

Re: VoiceOver and Google Docs

2021-02-18 Thread Brett Lewis
Hi,
I have found docs to mostly be unusable on the Mac.
A couple of things which seem to make it better.
First I use chrome rather than safari.
Second, you can go to tools/accessibility options when in a Google doc and
uncheck the braille mode checkbox. Braille mode is pretty good on Windows
but doesn't work well for me on the Mac.
Hopefully that will help a bit, but for me I had to get a windows machine
to really work with Google Docs.

Re: Interacting with edit boxes in forms on safari

2021-02-18 Thread Herbie Allen
Are you doing this with Quicknav on or off/ Also, what is the website? Some
things to try perhaps is with Quicknav on, use F to go from field to field. You
can then turn it off and fill in said field. Also, autofill can be your friend
in Safari as it can fill in a lot of the info saving work.

You do not need to use VO + Spacebar, to select a folder or item from the
Sidebar. Once you have navigated to the item, it is selected. Now, just stop
interacting with the Sidebar, and navigate to the Folder View area, where you
can interact, and select an item from the folder contents.

BTW - Rather than navigating to the Toolbar to change your Folder View to List,
you can use the keyboard command CMD + NumberRow 2, to select List view.

Hi!
Since may English isn’t what I wish it would be this is going to be a bit hard
to describe but its a very strange issue.
I downloaded an app on my Iphone today and after a while I got a message on my

Note that the download was on the iPhone but the message came on the Mac.
I am not sure why this is happening but its quite annoying.
Any thoughts.

RE: Opening a File Via Finder?

2021-02-18 Thread Fazil
Thanks much, how can I navigate to the Folder View area, please?

Thanks again.

VoiceOver and Google Docs

2021-02-18 Thread Barbara Hollick
I am struggling with Google Docs. When I type, VoiceOver will announce the
letters I am typing but when I hit space, it does not read the word. I do
not have the same experience when I use my PC. Is there something set
incorrectly? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
Warm regards,
Barb

Re: TextExpander Problems

2021-02-18 Thread Kerryann F. Ifill
I use it and found very similar results within the past couple days.

Can't create snippets with fill in fields. I also use it on PC and have
been meaning to try it there, but recently, my snippets aren't expanding
when I need them to.

Its quite annoying!

Kerry

TextExpander Problems

2021-02-18 Thread Brandon Olivares
Does anyone here use TextExpander?

It’s worked fine for years, and now just yesterday I upgrade it, and now it
barely works.

In the app, it keeps popping up a menu that I can’t seem to get out of, the
menu contains things like “disable expansion”, “new snippet”, “preferences”,
“sign out”, “quit”, etc. If I hit escape, sometimes it works, but sometimes it
doesn’t. But the moment I navigate with the trackpad, or hit VO-right or left,
the menu pops back up.

Also actually typing a snippet is all but impossible, if it contains a fill-in
field. That same menu pops up, and I often can’t get out of it.

I contacted support but they don’t immediately know what the problem is. Has
anyone else used this app on the Mac?

Thanks,
Brandon
