Re: How can I update my new iPad through the USB port on my MacBook Air 2013?

2022-02-13 Thread Brad Snyder
Herbie is correct, updating your iPad via Software Update on the iPad is the
simplest way to go.
However, having a few USB-C Female to USB-A Male adapters around is a good idea
as long as you are still using a Mac with only USB-A ports.
Below is a link from Amazon where you can pickup a couple of adapters at a nice
price.

Limited-time deal: USB C Female to USB Male Adapter 2 Pack,Type A Charger Cable

Re: How can I update my new iPad through the USB port on my MacBook Air 2013?

2022-02-13 Thread Herbie Allen
You might find it easier to just update the iPad by going to Settings, General,
Software update, and follow the prompts. Otherwise, you will need a USB A to
USB C cord.

How can I update my new iPad through the USB port on my MacBook Air 2013?

2022-02-13 Thread 'Eleanor Roberts' via MacVisionaries
Hi all

Hoping that some of you may be able to advise me on this. I have a MacBook Air
2013, which is still working perfectly so I've no intention of
changing/upgrading. I've used this Mac to update all my IOS devices ever since
I've had it. However, I've just received a new iPad which only has USB-C
connectivity. My Mac only has normal USB ports on it. So how can I update my
new iPad using my Mac? Is there an adapter that I need to get to enable me to
do this? If so, does anyone have any recommendations of good adapters that will
allow me to update this iPad through my Mac easily/without hassle?

Thanks so much for any help you can give, and all advice/suggestions very much
appreciated and gratefully received.

Eleanor
