Re: Seeing AI on M1 Mac?

2022-02-16 Thread joseph hodge
It used to be on the M1 version before Apple patched it! You could’ve installed
it with the imazing sweet however that way is now blocked unfortunately. When I
tried it though it didn’t work as expected I had high hopes back in the day for
it but the FaceTime camera was not very good!

iPhone screen starting to fail?

2022-02-16 Thread Phil Halton
A strange new development has started to occur with my iPhone XR in the last
week. Twice now I have been unable to wake up the phone by touching the screen.
Instead, I have to press the side button. The last time this happened a few
days ago? I rebooted the phone and that cleared up the problem I could again
wake the phone up with a touch of the finger. It just happened again and I’m
wondering is this some kind of a screen failure scenario that’s beginning? Any
thoughts?

Re: Seeing AI on M1 Mac?

2022-02-16 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

MacOS will do the text recognition on its own. Simply press VO-shift-l. You
may need to press this command twice as the first time often gives a false
response.

If Seeing AI is available on Mac, I’d be surprised. Although, I love surprises
:).

Seeing AI on M1 Mac?

2022-02-16 Thread Muhammad Fayed
Hi,

Is Seeing AI available on Mac with M1 device?

If yes, is it as usable as on iPhone or there is a difference?

Of course I know that the app won’t be use for anything other than existing
photos, but it would be great to have it on Mac when text recognition is
required on Mac beside Apple’s AI.

Re: Braille on IOS

2022-02-16 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hi!
I assume you tell the accessibility team that.
That will actually help I guess.
I use to mail them every now and then as there are a lot of things that needs
to be fixed so that braille should work properly on the Mac.
I don’t use a braille display with quirky keyboard.
I use the Handitech or Helptech basic braille 40.

Super Agent for Safari on Mac

2022-02-16 Thread Paul Hopewell
Hello,
Have any listers got the Super Agent for Safari App working on Mac Monterey
12.2.1? You can install it from the Mac App Store where it is free. You can set
it up to automatically fill in the desired cookie permissions which most web
sites in Europe require and where it is generally so difficult to set up
manually that you choose the easy option of “agree to all cookies” which is
usually not what you want.
I have set this up on IOS and that worked fine. I have installed it on my 2018
iMac and am having difficulty getting it setup. In particular the vital button
to give the extension permission to access all web site data is dimmed.
I would appreciate any tips from anyone who has gotten this to work. It should
be a great time saver for Safari users in Europe.
Many thanks … Paul Hopewell

amazon is a classic example of having to change the VO settings. Because of
that site constantly bringing up the review overshadowing everything else, I

Re: Does anyone know a good podcast or demo

2022-02-16 Thread Phil Halton
I know of no such podcast, but you could find out for yourself by experimenting
with it and playing around with it. I’m not being dismissive, I’m just trying
to tell you that you can teach yourself a lot while you’re waiting for someone
else to come along and show you things. It’s something I’ve been using since
college and it is much better than waiting for another to teach you. Like I
said some simple experimentation and trial and error will teach you pretty much
all you need to know. And, with a little practice you’ll become your own best
teacher. Give it a try Joseph

Does anyone know a good podcast or demo

2022-02-16 Thread joseph hodge
I’d like to learn more about using VoiceOver to follow mouse or keyboard
separately and best cases for this. Does anyone know any podcasts or trainings
that look at this in detail?

Joe

Re: Braille on IOS

There are commands to emulate most of the keys (control, command,
option), and braille key assignments for the VoiceOver functions - so
you could indeed work primarily from the braille display if this were
your preference.

I tend to use the QWERTY keyboard and then switch to the braille display
to read text. I do the same regardless of operating system.
