Updating Mac OS?

2022-10-17 Thread etscrivani via MacVisionaries
Hello All,

I have a Mac Book Pro that I bought in 2014. When I look in the "About This
Mac" area it tells me it's a "Late 2013" model. I am currently running Big
Sir 15.7 on it.

For months it has been notifying me that there is an update to Monterey
which I don't find when I check in preferences or the updates when I check
under the about this Mac. When/if I get a notification about it I cannot get
to that either.

Other than the computer being too old for the newer OS, does any one know of
any other reason why I am unable to get the download?

Thanks for any pointers.

Eileen

Re: Going Back to HomePage in Safari?

2022-10-17 Thread Bradford Snyder
You can skip the Shift key.
Holding down the Fn key, makes the Left arrow perform as the Home key.
All you need is Fn + CMD + Left arrow.

Hi,
Both keystrokes work.
I guess it may be easier to use command+shift+h on a LapTop.
But on my Mac, I have always used command+Home.

Apple mail

2022-10-17 Thread Lorie McCloud
Right now mail is announcing the subject of every email I get. I want to stop
this as it interrupts me if I’m doing something else. Would that be in mail or
somewhere else?

thanks.

Hi!
Not from what I am aware of.
Actually the new Siri chime is to low.
At least for my hearing.
I hear it when I am at home alone but not when I am in a crowd or outside where

Bless!
