Thunderbird for Mac

2023-08-05 Thread 'E.T.' via MacVisionaries
After installing Thunderbird 115 and clearing up some missteps, I am
playing with its navigation commands. Its layout is quite similar to the
Windows version. Curious if anyone else is taking a look at Thunderbird too.

Scanning & ocr options?

2023-08-05 Thread Traci Duncan
Hi all, I don’t know much about full scanning OCR options. I was just reading a
bit about pearl and open book from Jaws. Does the Mac have solutions like that?

One main thing I want is the ability to know if my reading material is right
side up. I also like the idea of the layout of the page remaining intact.
Tables, columns, etc.

Thanks for educating me. :)

Re: Editing PDF's with Voiceover

2023-08-05 Thread 'jason' via MacVisionaries
Yes, that’s probably a similar issue. Whoever creates the PDF file has to turn on tagged PDF (which, one hopes, will also solve these problems) in whatever tool is used to create the PDF file. Some tools don’t support it.The real solution is to distribute in a format other than PDF, such as HTML, alongside the PDF file. From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com on behalf of Jessica Moss Date: Friday, August 4, 2023 at 18:17To: 'Jim Fettgather' via MacVisionaries Subject: Re: Editing PDF's with VoiceoverOk, so would the same apply to a privacy policy which is supposed to state the following “to fight the funding of terrorists” but the word “fight” looks like “y(umlaut symbol)ght? Re: Just Appreciating the Accessibility of Apple Home Kit

2023-08-05 Thread 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries
Hi Mark,

Thanks so much for this information. We have an Ecobee, and the problem is
precisely the one you describe. It’s a touch surface, so when our internet
goes out, which has been frequent lately, I am unable to access the thermostat
at all.
Cheers,
Donna
