Re: My first ever Zoom call on a mac and I'm really worried

2023-10-30 Thread Phil Halton
I’m not a regular zoom user, but my last zoom there was a problem with
voiceover bleeding in to my audio channel. It was a distraction for the other
meeting members. You might want to think about perhaps muting voiceover, or
using some in your earbuds so only you hear the voice over.

Do not worry. Zoom on the Mac is quite simple. However, when you click the link
to get you into the meeting, it will probably launch Safari and let you in that
way. You can also download the /Zoom USA app from the ‘’zoom site. Try it out
a few times before the meeting to familiarize yourself with all of of the

Re: My first ever Zoom call on a mac and I'm really worried

2023-10-30 Thread Brad Snyder
Another thing,
Your Mac is going to ask that you respond to a lot of permission request from
zoom when you join your first meeting. Might be a good idea to open zoom, and
do a practice meeting with just yourself, using your personal meeting ID. This
way, you can get all those permission requests out-of-the-way before you join a
real meeting. This will also give you a chance to get familiar with the zoom
meeting user interface that you encounter once you are in a meeting on your
Mac.

My first ever Zoom call on a mac and I'm really worried

2023-10-30 Thread Simon Cavendish
Hi,

I’ve been sent an invitation to a Zoom meeting in a few days’ time. I’ve got
Zoom installed on my M1 chip macbook air but I’ve not done a Zoom meeting
before. They sent me a link, and then some ID numbers. If I click the link,
will it automatically connect me to the person who issued the invitation? Do I
need to do anything else of importance once in Zoom window? Any tips from more
experienced Zoom users on the mac would be appreciated.

Simon
