For me, I use WhatsApp only on my iPhone. If I need to share something via
WhatsApp from Mac OS, I just copy it on Mac and paste on iPhone. I can also do

Hope it helps,

Hello Everyone,
I apologize in advance for the cross posting. I accidentally opened a website I
didn’t want to open, and ow I keep receiving messages that I need to renew my
virus protection, which of course is a lot of junk.
When I go into the notification Center, and hit VO-Command-Space, I can
close it, but it comes right back. I know there is a way to clear this notice
for good, but I can’t think of the keystrokes to accomplish this. I have not
activated anything, but I would like to get rid of this notification.
Thanks in advance for the assistance, and again, I am sorry for the

Be Well,

Re: My review after spending two weeks with the Activator braille display

2024-01-14 Thread 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries
Hi Scott,

I’m a little surprised Mike didn’t get back to you. He was extremely helpful
to me, and very responsive to my questions. Damian is less responsive it
seems, but since Mike is in charge of tech support, it wasn’t too much of a big
deal. But for what it’s worth, I sent quite a few messages to Helptech in
Germany while I was trying to sort through things. It was during Christmas, of
course, and their offices were closed until the 8. But it’s been a week now,
and I still haven’t received a response to any of my messages. I didn’t want
to include that in the review, but that would seem to be yet another reason not
to purchase an Activator.

I did read the section in the Manual on Android briefly. From what I saw, it
just talked about using it with Android via bluetooth. But since I had no way
to confirm that, I also didn’t want to include it.

What do you mean by your comment that Launching apps is as simple as pressing
dot 8 and then typing the app name? Which display are you talking about there?
Cheers,
Donna

Re: How does one Ctrl Click?

2024-01-14 Thread Mike Arrigo
You can also move voiceover to the item you want to control click, than press
VO+command+F5 to move the mouse to that item, then choose to right click the
mouse from the voiceover menu. If you do this frequently you can define a
keyboard command or trackpad gesture for it.

Generally control-click is the same thing as bringing up the context menu,
which in VoiceOver is VO-shift-M.

Re: Seeing AI

2024-01-14 Thread Brandon Olivares
I actually rarely have problems with it. I use it a lot to check cans of cat
food, but I’ve learned around where the barcode is, so it usually works for me.
I hold it around 6 inches or so from the camera and slowly rotate until it
works.

I’ve noticed this same result more often than not lately, and have simply
resorted to the short text channel as a result. It can take more time that

Just turn blue tooth off and on again. This will disconnect the keyboard or

Re: Thinking of Switching to Windows

I use both for different reasons, I honestly have not been using my
mac as of late, because I have not been motivated to do anything music
related in a while. Kind of sad because I got this beast of a mac book
for that purpose.

Re: My review after spending two weeks with the Activator braille display

2024-01-14 Thread Scott Davert
Nice review, Donna!
Part of why I have not published an article on this device is because Dream
Vision never responded to a couple of questions I had. One of them being
the lack of ability to connect to Android. I was hoping to get official
confirmation of this before throwing it into the universe, but here we are.
I agree, for that much money, it has quite a bit of progress to make before
it's ready for the masses. It feels like a beta device to me. The file
transfer thing with the dock is neat. However, USB-C support is emerging
for other devices, so that's not unique. The news service is, but launching
apps is now as simple as pressing dot 8, typing the first word of the app,
and then activating it. 2 years ago, this would have been a huge hit,
though. The easiest way to check the battery status is when you turn the
Activator on. It's displayed as part of the opening message or whatever you
want to call it. What would have been the harm in creating a keyboard
shortcut to check the battery status like what is found on every other
device out there?

Just my perspective,
Scott

RE: What is the best recording app for aM2 Mac?

2024-01-14 Thread Jessica Barr
Glad to know Just Press Record is in the Mac App Store too. I have it on my
iPhone and Apple Watch, and I think it's well worth the price.

Just press record is a great option for the Mac. Very simple to use with no set
up. You can sync your recordings to either iCloud or dropbox. You can get it
from the Mac App Store. It's not free, but only cost about five dollars. There
is also a version available for iOS.

curve and it ain't free, though not too expensive, so you might wanna just do
a quick and dirty recording using voice memos or a quick time and then at your

could figure out how to work the darn thing. There's a few tricky aspects to it
that you really Need a tutorial for I think. Sent from my IPhone
