mac app store

2024-01-16 Thread Lorie McCloud
I’d like to know how to find “Just Press Record” in the Mac app store. I can
search for it but I can’t find the search results. I’m running Ventura if that
matters.

thanks.

Re: How to open an App from an unknown developer in Ventura

2024-01-16 Thread Simon Cavendish
Hi Paul,

the way I’ve always gone round this problem is to invoke contextual menu while
focused on the name of the app in the application folder and choosing to open
it from there. You get a warning with the cancel button as the rightmost
element but before the cancel button there will be the “open’ button and you
vo+spacebar on that one. This should do the trick.

Re: My review after spending two weeks with the Activator braille display

2024-01-16 Thread 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries
Hey Scott,

They have updated the manual, and I *think* that it talks about TalkBack now.
But I no longer have the device, so can’t confirm that.

And wow! What a cool new feature in iOS 17. I was unaware of it. And you’re
right, that does diminish the coolness factor of the dock a bit, though I still
like the apps option, where you can have your favorite apps all right there.
Cheers,
Donna

 Hi Sabahattin,

You’re welcome. The interface with the iPhone is definitely worth being
excited about. But I came to the conclusion that it didn’t offset the

designed this display that is clearly intended to function in the
Appleverse, and then tied it to a PC for things like updating. I get
that people with iPhones do have PCs, but you’d think that they would
have made either an iPhone or a Mac updating method available.

Re: My review after spending two weeks with the Activator braille display

2024-01-16 Thread Scott Davert
Hi Donna.
Unless they have very recently upddated the manual, the section on
Android talks about BrailleBack and how to set this up. The problem is
that, though the BrailleBack app is still available on some 3rd party
stores, it's not available on the Google Play Store. TalkBack as of
2022 has direct support for braille displays.
The feature with pressing enter, typing in the app name and so forth
is available with iOS 17 and any supported display.

I hope these things help clerify,
Scott
