Try selecting a single item for practice. Arrow to the file and then
press command plus delete. No other keys needed.

Re: Scheduling a zoom meeting on Mac

2024-03-10 Thread John Panarese
You can do it in Zoom. It takes a little fiddling. You have to spacebar on
the calendar part of the scheduler to get the dates to show. Then, to change
the start and end times, you need to command-down arrow to manipulate them. I
find it easier to type out the time, such as 3:00 or whatever for each field.
Once you type the required time, VO-space to confirm on it.

I feel the need to explain this a little better. It is not my intention
at all to trash the Apple Card. I still use it frequently and have put
some major purchases on it. It is easy to set up and use. I feel
confident that I always know exactly what is going on and that I have a
lot of control, something I have not always felt when dealing with credit
cards. I still recommend the Apple Card for VoiceOver users. It is
 amazingly easy.

But I had the misfortunate to make an ill-advised transaction on a site
that turned out to be fraudulent. I was tired and in a hurry and did not
use good judgment, which is a major way that scams and fraud happen. I
tried to use two credit cards because I thought I just didn’t have the
right number for one of them. This is why I am comparing the two cards,
Chase and Apple, because both frauds happened at the same time. Both
companies were extremely courteous and professional when I spoke with
them. And ultimately, I did not lose any money, so I feel confident that
I can use cards from both these companies. The Apple Card in particularly
sent me a notification that there was a charge, and when I looked it was a
charge I had not made. The only difference was that Chase never allowed
the fraudulent charge in the first place, while I actually had to contest
the charges with Apple. This took a couple of weeks and was resolved
quickly and painlessly. I am still happy with my Apple Card. But I do
think it is relevant that their fraud protection was not quite as
responsive. So I guess what I am saying is that if you think you might
have been defrauded for any reason, pay attention to those notifications
and take the time to go into the Wallet app and look around. If it does
happen, you will not wind up losing the money. They are very professional
about it. But Apple Pay and the Apple Card are the easiest and most
accessible ways to pay for anything that I can think of.

I hope this clears it up.

Scheduling a zoom meeting on Mac

2024-03-10 Thread 'Catherine Turner' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

Has anyone successfully scheduled a zoom meeting on Mac recently?
I've done this in the past but not for quite some time and when I
tried just now it was very problematic. When I was trying to type the
title of the event it kept jumping me either to the box to type
recipients or to the button to complete the schedule. Eventually I
got to type the title but the other problem was trying to use the date
and time pickers. With those I tried a mixture of quick nav on and
quick NAV off, using cursors left and right, typing, pressing the
VoiceOver cursor and pressing enter. Nothing seemed to work
consistently or understandably to me, eventually I managed to schedule
the time but I have no idea how or what I would do next time. Also
once the event appeared in my calendar and I went into the context
menu the item to email all participants was dimmed and I don't know
why that would be.

Does anyone have any ideas how to use the date/time pickers? And any
other info about how you schedule a meeting?

Thanks,
Catherine

Yes, as long as you have a touch ID sensor on your Max keyboard. If you do not
have a touch ID sensor on your Mac, you will need to verify using your iPhone

Re: Zoom H1 essential recorder with voice guidance

2024-03-10 Thread Phil Halton
Thank you all for the help. It in fact did come up talking with English plus beep selected. But, I’ve decided to return it. It’s just too cute by half for me with too many buttons and functions and all I need is really a scratch recorder to listen to my guitar/banjo playing. It’s probably a great unit but it doesn’t fit the bill for me and it’s gonna go back. amazingly easy.

Hi!
Maybe that could be something to think of.
Maybe I can’t use the credit card for this.
I go round in circles.

Re: Zoom H1 essential recorder with voice guidance

2024-03-10 Thread Michael Babcock
If, for some reason, the voice guidance isn't heard on your H1E, please follow
these troubleshooting steps.

Number one, turn the device on by pulling the slider switch toward you on the
left side of the device holding it for a second and then releasing. You will
hear startup sound, even if the volume is turned all the way down.

Number two, slide your finger up the left side of the device until you feel the
knob to turn up the volume. Push this knob up or away from you. And continue
until you can no longer push it.

Note, you will hear the start up sound even if the volume is turned all the way
down. You will not hear the device speak to you.

If pressing the knob all the way up, does not allow the device to speak to you,
press the button on the right edge of the device. This takes you into the menu.
At this point will use the four buttons directly below the screen to navigate
the menu:
press the second button in from the left under the display twice.
Next, Press the right most button once and this will take you into the system
menu.
Press the third button from the left, once to highlight accessibility,
Press the fourth button from the left once to enter this menu
Press the fourth button from the left once again and this will take you into
the guide sound.
Press that fourth button from the left again to enable English plus beep.

Please let us know if these directions do not assist.

Re: Zoom H1 essential recorder with voice guidance

2024-03-10 Thread Raymond Foret Jr
Phil,

I bought a brand spanking new Zoom H1 Essential recorder. It does indeed come
up talking first thing. Dave's spekulation must be correct. IF your unit did
not come up talking, some sighted light dependent person must have turned
speech off. I suppose you might use a service like Be My Ehes or Ira to get it
turned back on at first then go from there.
