On my laptop the ctrl-e to lower the volume and ctrlI to increase the volume
has no effect.
I thought that this program only plays different kinds of media.

I have never heard of App Zapper, but I have heard of other apps like

Adding RAM and a new SSD is not as easy as the article makes it sound,

Adding more RAM will not affect your Mac’s ability to upgrade its version
of macOS beyond a certain version. This is dependent on other hardware
 considerations.

working. If there is a program that works well just using VoiceOver I would
appreciate any suggestions.

Layout issues using VoiceOver

2020-02-10 Thread Donald Goosens
I am totally blind and am trying to build a web page. I need instructions on
how I can find out what elements or text is placed on the screen. It is
important to know things like if a banner is too large and drops down to a
second line. I also need to know if boxes are placed where I think they are!
Does VoiceOver have the capability to help with this or do I need to buy a
cheap windows based laptop just to be able to see my layout?

Thanks,

Donald

vo+t and other issues

2019-03-23 Thread Donald Goosens
Vo+t is supposed to give you information such as color and background color,
font style and type and maybe what point size such as 12pt. When I press vo+t
VoiceOver only reads 16pt Black no matter what the actual color is.

Also what are the commands to see where I am at on the screen or in a window?
It appears that on a pc I can get more precise information using JAWS. I am
looking for a solution so I can check page layout. I am hoping that I do not
have to install boot camp and use JAWS to solve this problem on my iMac. Any
help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Donald

Music Collector for the Mac

2016-05-22 Thread Donald Goosens
I am trying out Music Collector for the Mac and I am finding some problems with
what folders the titles are being placed in. I don’t know how to fix them.
Sometimes the CD’s go in the folder that has the letter of the first name and
then sometimes they land in the letter of the last name. Once in a while they
land in the first letter of the title instead of the group name or author. I
don’t know what keystrokes to use to fix this. If this is not an appropriate
question could somebody write me off list?

Thanks,

Donald

looking for a check register program

2015-10-18 Thread Donald Goosens
I am looking for a check registry program like the American Printing House
MoneyTalks that works on windows. I am pretty sure I can’t install that program
on the Mack without a whole lot of hassle so I am wondering if there is an
accessible program similar to that for the mack?

Thanks,

Donald

no numpad on bluetooth keyboard

Since I don’t have a numpad on my bluetooth keyboard a lot of the VoiceOver
commands do not work. Is there a resource for keyboard commands using a
keyboard without a numpad?

Re: Saving attachments in Mail

What would be the keyboard commands to accomplish all of this?

The easiest way is to simply drag the icon of the attachment from your email
to the desktop, or to any folder or folder window in the Finder.

If you have the file open, you can also use the File menu in the program that
opened it. Apple programs now use the Duplicate command, but many other
programs (apps) still use Save as

Technically, the attachment is already saved on your computer, but its
location is a hidden folder. When you save the document to a new location
with any of the directions in this response, you are simply making another
 copy at that location.

new to the list

2015-07-06 Thread Donald Goosens
Î My name is Donald and I am new to the list. I bought a used
MackBook a couple of years ago and have read some books from BookShare. I have
a wireless keyboard that I assume came with the computer. It has no numpad. It
does have command, option, control and function key. Where can I find a list
of key commands that will help me with this keyboard? Also, Can a totally
blind person effectively use the drag and drop feature with VoiceOver? I know
I have so many questions and I want to thank all of you in advance for your help
