Blogging sites

2019-02-14 Thread RATTRAY, JULIE
Hi,

I am considering starting a blog and wondered if anyone had some advice of the
best sites to use - I want something that is free as I amnestying not sure yet
if it is something I will do.

I know that I can use mars edit to create posts and link to a blog but wondered
about the hosting sites - I looked at word press but found it a little clunky I
did however, manage to create a blog post - but now I want to change the blog
and I can’t work out how to do this - can I have two Bloggs on the same hosting
site with same email address - if that makes sense

Thanks for this - I haven’t used google drive or google docs much so any info

direction of an idiots guide to google drive/docs I would be really grateful

Hi,

First, it sounds like you're no longer signed in to your Google Drive on the
Mac. That would make it so that things that were deleted were not synced with
the Google Cloud. This would also probably make it so that you couldn't share
files from the Finder. If you are sharing to another Google user, then there's
no need to send things as a "sharable link". You can simply share the file and
check the box that sends them a message that something was shared with them.
In that web dialog that appears when you share something, there is also the
sharable link if you choose to send that link instead.

I also suggest trying the free pdf viewer skim to compare with preview, it is
designed for academic papers. The above steps would be the
same. Here is the download page:

you do this - and I would be interested in the possibilities

Hi,
Hmmm. That sounds like a job for DBT support people. If they use some sort of
proprietary Open dialog instead of the bulb-in MacOS dialog, it might cause
issues. Yes, she is really enjoying it. We were having fun over the weekend

Dear all,

OK so I have cracked it! But it is silly - instead of trying to move round the
dialogue box I just hit enter and it opened the file - not sure if I feel
stupid for not trying this in the first place or puzzled that it lets me do it
but won’t let me navigate the box - will inform Duxbury of the whole issue but
glad for now to have found a solution.

Thanks for all the different suggestions - turns out I won’t need whisky in the
morning coffee after all 

Issue with spreadsheets and VO

2019-02-04 Thread RATTRAY, JULIE
Hi everyone,

I am using Numbers for spreadsheets which generally works fine but I have an
issue when someone send me a spreadsheet where they have merged columns to
create wider headings I think VO just says merged cell but does not read what
is in the cell even if I try interacting with it. Am I doing something wrong or
can anyone help me to work out what is in the merged cell?

Best wishes
Julie

The same works if you keep them in dropbox and it is so much easier with I
cloud or dropbox than anything else I have tried

One more thing, Cait.

The way I deal with this situation is via iCloud. I just keep files that I
want to open from multiple devices in my iCloud directory, and then I can open
them from either my computer or my phone. I think this is easiest, because you
don't have to worry about moving files around, the file is just there when you
want it. If the file is on your phone, you should be able to save it to
iCloud, and then just open it on your Mac.

Donna

Weird. I guess it's possible that the sharing only goes one way, but that

ok, I’ve enabled drop box as a content source, but don’t see anywhere to put it
as a sharing option. I checked in both the settings choice inside voice dream

Hi, Cait,

It's been a long time since I've used Voice Dream reader, but you can configure
it to work with Dropbox. But you have to set it up, you have to give it your
login info I can't remember where the option to set this up is, but check
under settings.
Cheers,
