Bookmark folders on Mac

2022-11-04 Thread Sarah Massengale
Good morning, all,

I’ve recently figured out that all of my safari bookmarks fall into one of
several categories. I’d really like to be able to put them in folders to keep
my computer more organized, and make it easier to find things. Is this
something I can do in ventura, and if so, how do I do it?

Thanks,
Sarah

Re: Mac or iPhone accessible measuring tools

2022-03-31 Thread Sarah Massengale
Thanks so much, Tim. I’d forgotten about the measuring app, and I don’t think
I knew the level was even there. I’ll have to do some experimenting with
those. I had a feeling the measuring wheel and hanging scale would be a little
more tricky, but maybe somebody will have an idea. Thanks again for your help,
and have a great day.

Mac or iPhone accessible measuring tools

2022-03-31 Thread Sarah Massengale
Hello all,

As part of my job, I will now be conducting on-site assessments for physical
accessibility. I’m currently looking for some Mac or iPhone accessible
measuring tools: a level, a tape measure, a measuring wheel/walking measurement
tool, and a hanging/fishing scale to measure the weight needed to open doors.
Does anyone know if devices like this with apps that work with voiceover exist
or where I might start to research them. Thanks so much for any help you can
provide.

Best,
Sarah

Re: wi-fi calling

2021-09-27 Thread Sarah Massengale
Hi, Lorie,

Unfortunately, Wifi calling is something that you have to have a cell plan to
do. I know, on Verizon, it’s just a matter of turning on the Wifi calling in
the cellular settings and typing in your emergency address. I live in the
middle of nowhere, so I have to use it all the time. Hope this helps.

Best,
Sarah

Signing a document with adobe on Mac

2021-02-13 Thread Sarah Massengale
Hi, friends,

I recently submitted an application for life insurance and was told I’d need to
E-sign my application. They let me know they use Adobe to do this, and I’ve
never done an e-signature at all using VoiceOver. Does anyone have tips on
whether or not this is accessible, and what I’ll need to do? I don’t really
want to ask for sighted assistance, so wanted to see what, if anything, I’d be
able to do on my own.

Thanks,
Sarah

Re: problem after update to the newest version of the OS operating system

2020-08-09 Thread Sarah Massengale
Hi,

In my experience, this isn’t new to the newest OS. I’ve seen it off and on for
the past two or three updates. Usually either shutting down, restarting, or,
in the worst case, a PRAM reset tend to fix it. Hope this helps.

Re: Dropbox

2020-07-10 Thread Sarah Massengale
Hi Lucy,

Actually, Dropbox is very easy to use on the Mac. Just download it, and the
folders will sync to your finder. From there, you can upload things just by
putting them in the appropriate folder within the Dropbox folder in your
finder. Once you use it, if you find that you have any more specific
questions, I feel sure many people on the list can help.

Best,
Sarah

Re: Is there a version of BrailleBlaster for the Mac?

2019-12-20 Thread Sarah Massengale
To my knowledge, there is not a Braille translation package for macs. That is
why, when I asked my state agency to purchase an embosser for me, we purchased
one with onboard translation. I’ll definitely be curious to know if I’m wrong
though, and if a package exists of which I’m not aware.

2019-08-01 Thread Sarah Massengale
I love the device and what it does. I’d definitely have one, but it’s really a
bit too expensive for the average blind person drawing a social security check
in the US and working to find a job. my most sincere congratulations on your
awards, and you have a great product. You just may want to think about
lowering the price a bit for it to be accessible to the average blind person.

 Hi everyone,

This is Yuma, and I have and update.

Some of you might remember that I was working on a digital tape measure. I
had also used as my proposal for the 2017 Hollman prize.

Since then, I have been working hard on new prototypes with my partner,
wand the 2018 James Dyson award for its design and innovative features.

I am pleased to announce two things. First, though I didn’t get the 2017
Holman prize, I actually won this years prize. I will be going to San
Francisco for the induction, and will go on a world tour to meet various
scientists and engineers to make astronomy and all of its affiliate fields
accessible to all of us. If anyone of you is in the San Francisco bay
area, let’s get in touch. I would love to meet some of you in person.

Second bit of news, we have a limited early release pre-order of the
Macaron which you can check out below. We are offering this limited
release, so that we can change the software to your liking and follow your
advice on how you would want a digital tape measure to work, Beyond the
features we have already created so far. This is because we have an
automatic firmware update feature, which will allow us to update the
associated IOS app, and we really excited to hear your recommendations and
put new features to the device.

Have a look with the link below, and if you have any questions just email
 me.

 https://www.oseyeris.com/product/the-macaron

As an earlier doctor, you will get the high-quality finish unit, and the
ability to upgrade to a new device at 50% of its retail price when it
 comes out.

The macaron has gone through multiple iterations, and is going through
trials in the medical field, the clothing industry, as Wellers wood
 workshops across Australia.

We are also getting a new software developer who will help us with the
android app, as well as create new exciting features alongside my own
 participation in the project.

Again, I’m really excited to announce these two bits of news, and hope to
hear from you. Have a great week all :)

 Yuma

The New York Times has a great indexed searchable version. Full disclosure, I

do know it’s there, and I got the sense that it wasn’t PDF. Hope this helps.

Re: Streaming netflicks on a macbook?

2018-12-27 Thread Sarah Massengale
Others might know more than I do about it, but, to my knowledge, it’s not. if
you do find out that it is, write back and tell me how it’s doable, because I’m
curious.

Honestly, if you do this you’re just complicating things for yourself. Netflix
is a little tricky to navigate, but it is doable. I’d honestly just stick the
using the TV.

Not sure why you’d want to do that, when you can just watch Netflix in a
browser on your mac.
