The way that I have done it is when interacting with the list of files that I wish to pick from I continually hold the voiceover keys down navigating through my files when I hear one I want keeping voice over held down press command enter sometimes that unselect the first file so you have to do it again. At that point continuing to navigate with VoiceOver in the arrow keys I use command enter to pick the rest of the files that I want. When done I have course press command see. Not sure if that's what you were looking for but hope it helps. We are working with the student using an iPhone 4S with the newest OS on a Windows 7 machine with office 10. We are trying to get his contacts to sync to the cloud and also to Outlook 2010. We are not having any luck! In any ideas. We are using the newest iTunes can information be synced to both? Or is there a step were missing. Program starting
On one of the Mac computers that are student is training on the Photo Booth window loaded automatically when the computer was started. The check box was unchecked to open the window at start up. We had to go into system preferences and tell it not to load. Any idea how this could've happened? Is there a hot key or something like that to add items at logon? When setting up a new printer my MacBook Pro found it instantly. My wife's netbook did not already have the drivers so I put the CD in my MP B and all that showed up for the Mac files I could not get it to show the rest of the CD and other installation packages. I'm figuring there must be a setting to have it show all file types but I can't find it. Give me ideas? Hopefully all of you can figure out what I'm asking Siri is being fussy this morning! I just installed mountain lion on my MBP. Everything was going well until I tried to switch the soundcard to a USB headset. All of a sudden I lost all voice over and system sounds. I did a hard shutdown booted back up computer talks at walk on screen but no voice over app for that any ideas? I need some iCloud help!on a iPod touch I removed the iCloud account. because some how we ended up with multiple entrees in the contacts list.and I didn't want all of that showing up on the iPhone. now when I check contacts the iCloud settings of the iPhone it said all contacts will be merged. we don't want the old contacts on the iPhone since we have it the way she wants them and we just want to back them up to the cloud. is it safe to hit the merge ore will it make a big mess of everything? audible books

shutting down with lion
ever since I have put lion on my macbook pro it seems to take several attempts to get the computer to turn off. when I hit enter ore vo space bar it just sits for ever. I some times have to do this 3 or 4 times to get the computer to shutdown. has any one ells seen this? any ideas on what is going on? coppying
I am still having trouble with copying books. I find the nls book I download. I copy it and then go to the sd card find the folder and open it then interact with the list of books. I got my macbook pro in April and upgraded to lion last week. coppying books
I have some books I want to move to my network drive. using my macbook with pro with lion I find the book in downloads and then copy. I then go to my talking books folder on my network drive i interact with the … talking books folder and paste. but it puts the book on the route of the network drive. first timer question!
in the past I have installed windows with little to no speech and had sighted assistance. this will be my first time doing a mac install. will vo talk during the install? and is it worth it to do a clean install ore is the upgrade working for people. I am thinking that now is the time to do it because I just got the macbook in April and I don't have to much on it to restore after the install if needed. I am sure some of you can relate to this but at work I kept trying to exit outlook on my p.c. by hitting the command q and surprise surprise it would not work and I started getting mad before I realized what I was doing. thanks for all of the help given so far. I just got my macbook in April. what do all of you think. I am wanting to upgrade to lion. I am still learning snow leopard and think the lion should come fairly quickly. but my question is is there anything I will not be able to do with lion that I can do now? is there any advantage to formatting a thumb drive in one of the mac formats instead of fat 32?on the Facebook mobile sight I cant click the comment ore like option. it just bonks when I do the vo spacebar. about the only thing I use the p.c. for now is ocr! when using itunes on my macbook I am having a hard time. when adding songs. after hitting command o and then trying to brows to the folder sometimes a dialog box comes up wanting a username and password for Idisk. Cheers, Anne One of the features that contributes to Prizmo's increased effectiveness for visually impaired users is the ability to take pictures with speech control, by saying, Take Picture, which reduces the likelihood of a blurred image due to moving the phone when you double or split tap a button to take a picture. You turn this feature on in the Settings menu by double tapping the Settings button in the top right corner of the main Prizmo screen. Flick right to the General Settings button under the Settings heading and double tap. On the General Settings screen, flick right past the Capture heading and set the Alignment Grid to Switch button, off, then set the Speech Control to Switch button, on. I believe both switches are turned on by default, but it is several months since I configured Prizmo. I'm not sure whether turning off the Alignment Grid is necessary, but you certainly don't need it to be displayed, since you can't see it while using the camera. Once you have checked that these settings are in place, double tap the Settings, back button in the top left corner to return to the Settings screen, then double tap the Done button in the top right corner to return to the main Prizmo screen. The main Prizmo screen has a list of types of documents to scan and OCR, followed by a Documents button at the bottom of the screen that are results you want to store in the app. In general, you will choose to double tap Text (the first listed entry). The app works in 3 stages, which are indicated by the 3 buttons at the bottom of the the next (Photo) screen: (1) Source (obtaining the image using the Camera -- can also use previous images from your photo album taken outside the app), (2) Image (options to apply corrections to image before OCR -- generally requires vision to perform actions, such as cropping to only include the part of the image that contains text or correct for distorted pictures because you didn't hold the iPhone flat), and (3) OCR (perform the OCR with an option to choose the language to improve the OCR), then display the results for editing, copying, etc. or saving in the app's stored Documents. You can navigate through the app without ever using these buttons, just by double tapping the Next button in the top right corner of the screen to move through each stage, and that's probably the easiest way to use the app when you get started, especially if you only work with documents in English. However, if you want to OCR a document in a different language, you can improve your results by double tapping the OCR button (third or three at the bottom right corner of the screen) and then flicking left to the language button (e.g., English) in the row of option buttons for that screen, and double tapping. You'll be able to double tap another language from the list of 10 available languages. (Note that you will not hear selected announced beside the currently selected language in the list, but you can only exit the Language menu by either double tapping a new language selection or by double tapping the Cancel button in the top right corner. Once you have changed the language (e.g., to French) and returned to the Photo screen with the OCR button set, you should hear the new language, French, announced if you flick left to that button.) Setting the OCR language before applying the next button improves the recognition of words with accented characters -- otherwise I may get a 6 for an e with acute accent, and other such examples. Here's the sequence for the iPhone 4, assuming that you have configured the Settings menu as outlined earlier. It is very helpful to use the $0.99 Light Detector app to check lighting conditions and also get a sense of the optimal centering and height of the iPhone above the page before you use Prizmo. (You can hear when the Light Detector signal is loudest if you move the phone up and down or left/right and forwards/back with respect to the page. This only gives a rough sense of where to position the phone when you use Prizmo, but if you can't hear any difference in signal with Light Detector when you move the phone around over the page, chances are that either the background light level is too low to take a good image, or you're blocking the light source with part of your body. You should also use a headset connected to the headphone jack, since as soon as the iPhone camera is accessed in a mode that is capable of responding to your spoken Take Picture command the volume of VoiceOver through the speaker will drop, and not get restored until you exit the camera screen either by double tapping the Use button in the
