Re: iOS recording app

2023-08-09 Thread minh Tam ha
Just Press Record is great for an easy, no frills recording app. You can
use the magic tap to start and stop recording and all recordings are
available to play right in the app. It also has a great Apple watch app
that literally starts recording as soon as you open it.

Re: A good translation app for iOS

2023-03-30 Thread minh Tam ha
Phil, there is a Google Translate app for iOS. I don't know if there's a
way to create a shortcut of some kind to ask Siri to translate something
but it goes to the Google Translate app instead, though I've heard of
assistant finagling before so it's probably not out of the realm of
possibility.

If you just want to be able to navigate by word/character, after you ask
Siri to translate something, the translation is shown on the screen and you
can use rotor gestures to read by word/character.

Google Docs better with Chrome or Safari?

2022-06-23 Thread minh Tam ha
Hello all,

My new job works exclusively on Google Workspace and I'm trying to keep
work tasks confined to Google Chrome on the Mac. However, Docs does not
seem to be behaving very well, particularly when connected to a Braille
display (I recognize that Braille support is pretty atrocious for Google
Docs anyway.) I've also tried Google Docs with Safari and the experience is
slightly more tolerable, but still not fantastic. Do you have any
preference/tips on which browser to use? for a less frustrating experience?

Thanks,
Minh

1Password on Mac

2022-03-24 Thread minh Tam ha
Hello all,

Does anyone use 1Password 7 on the Mac? I always have a hard time autofilling
password using the hint it provides, to press up or down arrow to access the
autofill menu. Just wondering if there is an easier and more reliable way to do
this.

Thanks,
Minh

Thank you. Some how all of the accessibility features were checked under
shortcut so every time I pressed command+triple click Touch ID it would bring
up a list instead of just Voiceover.

Clicking on Zoom link in Calendar app

2022-01-31 Thread minh Tam ha
Good morning everyone,

I have a few standing Zoom meetings on my calendar, but I am unable to click on
the link in the Calendar app on the Mac to get the meeting started. Is this not
possible through the app?

Thanks,
Minh

Mac tutorials from Mac Cafe

2022-01-19 Thread minh Tam ha
Hi all,

A while ago, someone from this list shared with me a link to Mac tutorials from
either Mac Cafe or TTJ. I downloaded all the files but they don’t appear to be
on my Mac anywhere. Can someone reshare this?

Thanks bunches,
Minh

Re: A couple of mail questions

2022-01-11 Thread minh Tam ha
Hi Tim,

Thanks for the great explanation. I never realized there were so many different
ways of viewing emails! It was the second point that I was looking for, to see
my messages as individual emails. Sometimes I forget what I said in a reply and
it’s nice to have it right on hand as I am scrolling down my inbox.

Thanks again,
Minh

A couple of mail questions

2022-01-10 Thread minh Tam ha
Hi all!

Back again with a couple of Mail questions.

Is there a way for me to see my own replies in an email thread?

Also, I’ve been told that when I send emails from my Mac that they are showing
up as plain text and not html. I looked under preferences and I only see rich
text or plain text as options. What am I missing?

Thanks!
Minh

Hi Tim,

I figured it out. I actually did have to add VO to the arrow keys in order for
my selections to stick. Arrow keys alone didn’t keep the date and time I
selected.

Thanks!

Hi Dave,

Yes, I tried doing that but when I uninteracted with the fields, none of my
selections were saved. Pressing enter would just schedule the meeting.

Emojis on the Mac

2021-12-06 Thread minh Tam ha
Hello all,

I’m wondering how to consistently use emojis on the Mac. When I go into the
emojis window with CTRL+COMMAND+SPACe, sometimes I am presented with a search
box and a button called “switch to large window.” When this button is
activated, various tables are presented, but no emojis appear even when I
select a category.

Thanks for any assistance,
